Standard looks best to my eyes with neutral coming in second. I got used to shooting in clog3 though and just apply the Canon lut in post. It can get a bit noisy depending on the scene.

That's so interesting! One thing I learned but forgot to mention in the video was the way I feel about those profiles is based on the colors on my laptop. When I watch on my OLED TV for example it does look different. Would you even shoot c-log indoors in a dark setting or do you just reserve it for outdoors?
@ElBoyoElectronico2 жыл бұрын
@@thesahdstudio I would shoot anything professional in clog 3 for the highest quality and most creative freedom in post. Also, I definitely prefer using clog 3 for outdoor scenes. Anything for fun or for KZbin would be perfectly enough in 8bit Canon standard though.
@thesahdstudio2 жыл бұрын
@@ElBoyoElectronico Ok cool, that's kind of what I thought. I look forward to tinkering and getting there on my own. I do think the picture styles are a bit contrasty though and crush the blacks. I tested it vs a Sony a7iv and while I tried to make it a fair fight, the Sony was so much flatter out of the camera compared to the saturated/contrast out of the camera from Canon. It might have been a more even fight in the log profiles, next time I can test that!

Thank you my friend I really appreciate your words. It's so fun to do and talk about isn't it? May I ask why you shoot in s-log? Just for fun or? I use NO picture profiles on my current videos and used to use PP1 on my a6400 (after LOTS of testing) and found it looked fantastic. I think S-log is great if you shoot outdoors or somewhere with TONS of light... for indoors I personally don't see a point. Just something to think about...

@@thesahdstudio yap, i just want to know how slog work and how to edit that. i agree, slog more useful for outdoor, but since i'm not going anywhere this week (still rainy day here), i can't wait to edit slog footage, but will try to use PP1 like yours, i want to know the difference and i think it will good for my studio workflow. i'm doing experiment about my camera on my youtube channel without talking about that. I'm so glad! So have you found working with those giant c-log files makes your computer work hard? I'm amazed SO many people talk about working in log with files for KZbin... I mean I get it if you are delivering high quality files to a client, but for people like me just trying to make decent looking videos for KZbin, I think out of camera 8 bit is just fine. That should STILL look great right? What computer do you use? I have a 2020 Asus Zephyrus laptop with a RTX 2060 and I edit in 4k.

To me custom 2 looks the best. It has great contrast and depth, and colours are not oversaturated. I have notice something thoug: I think is the position of the camera, but not entirely sure. Before 4:12 It seems to be set quite high or with a different focal length, I don't know; but It makes me unsettled. I have come to the conclusion It seems as if we were looking down into a box to see a tiny man looking up at us. After that timestamp looks more natural and opened. Might also be the split lighting or the simetrical corner? Hmmm let me know what you think
@thesahdstudio2 жыл бұрын
Haha that's awesome! I love that you pointed it out, and yes, I fully agree with you. To be honest, since I just got the camera a couple days ago, I have not yet spent the time setting up my studio. I've just been familiarizing with the camera itself. I just plopped it on the tripod and start shooting for those earlier shots. I didn't mean to get that shot after 4:12 but when I saw it later I was like, that's WAY better! So yes, I will be keeping that moving forward. Good catch. And that's interesting you also like Custom 2. It's so personal isn't it? Also I think the screen one watches it on makes a big difference. That laptop I edit on and the oled TV I watch at night are totally different.
