That Western Conference was a juggernaut back in those days. Every one of Kobe's playoff/championship runs were extremely competitive and stacked with the best teams of the era. I think the 2000 championship run is very underrated for Kobe, and so is 2002. Honestly, all of them were GOAT level championship runs.

I agree with you. I was at work one time I was talking to these dudes and one of them said 2009 may have been his favorite Kobe. He said he’s never seen anybody. Gave someone that much work in the finals game more than any game in sports history and he was specifically talking 1 oh1, Michael Petris. I thought about what he said, and I was like LeBron one MVP that year, but then I looked at kobes s one on one highlights against Michael Petras in the finals and I was like this is a madman he is bloodthirsty I had to agree with him. Michael Petras defense was like perfect and it didn’t even matter. It was unreal Kobe hit the most retarded, ridiculous shots. It was literally unbelievable.

@Herosennin4 ай бұрын
It is. People often downplay is due to his finals efficiency when in reality only the first game ended with both teams under 100 and game 7 both under 90. Everybody but the big men basically were shooting low efficiency due to the defense. However Kobe still led every game in 4th quarter scoring.
@anthonyhernandez21114 ай бұрын
Im convinced if Kobe FG% was like at 46% in the finals lets say , and had a a more effecient 32-35 points to go along with his 15 rebounds in game 7..it would be universally recognized as a top 5 playoff run ever due to strenght of West amd Celtics (50 plus wins every team he played!)
@Herosennin4 ай бұрын
@@anthonyhernandez2111 And in reality it still should. People forget the Celtics had a superteam of Rondo, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, KG, Perkins and Rasheed Wallace, Tony Allen, Glen Davis off the bench. The Lakers had a solid team, but not even close to a superteam. Also like you stated his rebounds. In a game in which both sides miss shots due to stiffle defense, what becomes most important? Rebounding. 7 of Kobe's rebounds came in the 4th. And 3 of those were his of his total 4 offensive rebounds for which he led all players in the 4th. Added to that, he had most 4th quarter points the series and most clutch time shots of both teams in the series. I doubt that if you'd ask the Celtics players who the best was in that series, that they'd claim anyone but Kobe.
