My grandson, age 10, has only used Axe handle bats. About a year ago, I bought him a wood youth DTB axe handle bat. Recently, I purchased the identical bat, but with a ProRX handle. While still early for comparisons, he so far prefers the axe handle. Is it true that you’re supposed to face the label to the pitcher with the ProRX handle. If so, we’ve been doing it incorrectly.
@MACKEYP3 жыл бұрын
@@edcampbell8176 yeah you are supposed to face the label towards the pitcher the way the bat sits in your hand allows you to get such good extension. Keeps your barrel in the zone longer and helps level some people’s swings out

Really enjoyed this video, especially the bit that explained why you don’t see many tapered metal bats. Was researching how to make my 9-year-olds handle more comfortable and came across this video. Super helpful and we are going to try adding a taper to his bat. Wish bat tapers were more common knowledge so it hadn’t taken us so long to even realize you don’t have to suffer with the traditional knob you get on most little league metal bats. For some reason, after market tapers appear to be a lot more common and talked about in softball. Maybe girls are just more willing to admit the traditional knob hurts and then do something about it!

Glad the comfort knob got it as I don't know why ProXR and Axe handle bats demand the prices that manufacturers are asking, your only getting half a bat when you can only use one side. Unless you have a left handed bro you can share it with :)
@edcampbell81763 жыл бұрын
Don’t virtually all hitters use the same side of the bat for all their swings? Everyone is taught to have the label facing you before swinging. How many players face the label away from them just so they can hit on the other side of the bat?
