USE WHISKS to do all-around blending, whipping, and beating. They bring air into your batter or mixture.
Buy and use either the balloon whisk or the french whisk.

My objective for this channel is to share with others what I have learned over the last 30+ years about living and eating healthier. I share my knowledge with my small circle of friends all the time. I am not a doctor, nor do I hold any type of medical degree, but I believe that my tried experiences may help someone else.
For over 30 years I have used every diet imaginable to lose weight, but I confess that I am now at home using the vegan lifestyle. I want to share what I have learned about eating and enjoying food. And, since I am still learning how to be more consistent with this lifestyle, I have decided to eat more healthily, realizing the weight will come off eventually. Though I have not reached my goal weight, I know that sharing with other people in front of a camera with help me to stay on course.
I have, with the help of my husband of 37 years, raised 3 grown children. I will also share some cooking shortcuts as well as some natural formulas I have used and still use for everyday problems.

You're welcome, Ruthann. Actually that is why I am doing the "Kitchen Essentials" series...for newbies; however, I thought, perhaps, the more-seasoned cooks might learn a little something, too. Thanks for the encouragement, Ruthann 🙂. I really enjoyed doing this one!

Wow, that was very interesting Berta. I was amazed to know there are that many different types of whisk. I love my balloon whisk. I have metal and silicone covered balloon whisk. That was so neat to get to see photos of the different whisk. Especially the Bamboo type. Was nice to learn about the difference of the whisk also. Thank you as always for another creative interesting video. 👍👏😇💕💕 Love Tamson.

Love your videos! This is interesting. Now I know I have a "balloon" whisk. But, I've never seen or heard of a French whisk before. I'll look through your other videos to find a demonstration of the French whisk and how it differs from the Balloon whisk when preparing sauces or dressings, since I plan to make more of my own now that I'm plant based. Thanks for that FYI!

C C, I must admit that I may not have used the balloon (or piano) whisk correctly in my previous videos because as I do research, I learn. So from now on I will be using a french and balloon whisk as I shared. Please know that I am no expert, only one who is learning so I can do better and then share it with you 😉. I appreciate your comment.

Just keep trying. Some whisks are easier to handle than others. You'll be okay; but, if using your mixer gets the job done, surfnyolly, USE IT and be thankful that you have something that helps YOU! 🥰

What size is best of balloon whisk??
@Wateringman
@Wateringman 4 жыл бұрын
Bertha...like your straightforward presentation; but, you forgot to include the flat whisk. Many people use a spatula...or a wooden spoon, to lift the fond from a skillet, but the flat wires and the upturned handle, make whisking roux and likewise stirring fond from a skillet or pan a dream, when you are deglazing a skillet. And as well you can use a flat whisk as a spatula when lifting food off a skillet, in a pinch! Love your show! 😘 👍 And last...great of you to include the balloon whisk attachment. Very few ever mention such attachments. Peace and love! ✌ PS. Try the Oxo Good Grips Flat Whisk. I have no connection to them. But its a fantastic flat whisk. Stainless steel is best. Hate the plastic covered one's.

I always learn something here, Berta! I just have a French whisk, none of those others in the photos you showed. I mainly use a whisk for eggs or salad dressings. My Mom used an old-fashioned egg beater for whisking tasks. I wonder if anyone uses those anymore?

@@bertajay Absolutely. I'm not sure if one can buy those old-fashioned egg beaters anymore, but it would be interesting to see if there are folks who still use them. I used them as a kid when I was helping Mom in the kitchen, but found them a little "unwieldy" then. I do prefer whisks now myself.

That's funny you bring that up. I had completely forgotten about them. I have old childhood memories of using an old-fashioned egg-beater to make pudding. But haven't seen one in over 20 or 30 years I think. I don't know how or when it escaped from my mothers house. I couldn't find it when I had to empty her home to sell it after she passed away.
