This song reminds me of my first puppy love/crush when I was on 3rd grade (1997) . We were classmates since kinder and we share the same service/jeepney. Every Thursday, she used to participate in Glee club practices after school hours and always asked me to wait for her outside the music room, so that she'll have company and together we'll wait for the service to arrive. This song is the one they keep playing/singing over and over while our teacher plays the piano. Having to walk together, talk everyday, sit beside each other, and just being with each other developed and gave me a great feeling I've never felt before. During Christmas that time, she gave me a Christmas card with a really long handwritten letter saying how thankful she was to me and her wishes for me and the future. It was the moment I started to adore her. She has always been on my mind. Puppy love I guess. I don't know what happened but we grew apart from each other during mid-elementary/high school, where she had her own circle of friends and activities while I had mine, we started to lose constant contact to each other as we no longer have the same service, start to look in the mirror, try our best to look good as we realize we're not "kids" anymore, and have different crushes during that time. From then on, I don't know but we tend to shy away from each other as we hit our teenage years. And it was during college where I totally lost her. She studied in Manila while I studied in my hometown down Calabarzon area. Social media really hasn't been around those years, so keeping in touch with your old friends is not as simple and easy. We were both busy and had different lives at that point. I've been in relationships before and like everyone, had heart aches and lots of lessons learned. It was only in 2010 when fate led us to be connected on Facebook where she sent me a friend request, but there's really not much into it. Things have totally changed. We have become strangers with a lot of great memories. In 2013, she happily got married with her longtime college boyfriend and now has 2 kids and currently living in Canada. As I sit here hearing this song, it makes my heart warm and puts a smile on my face, butterflies are still there, remembering those memories and that point in our lives where everything in life is simple, carefree, no stress and full of happiness. It was during that moment that for the 1st time in my life, I had this feeling of infatuation, affection, longing, happiness, and adoring someone as a 9 year old boy. I knew it was love. And with this song, it all takes me back there. This song meant a lot to me, thanks for sharing.
