Thank God finally found this video that matches my refrigerator as well as the issue , can’t wait to go home and try this , hope this will fix the issue because the inside light went off at the same time this issue started, we order a new light panel , changed it but it didn’t work 😣 the issue remained, so definitely I’ll try these simple steps 🤞will let you know if it works/ solves the problem 🤔🤞🤞🤞🤞

Thanks for this video -- issue. the ice maker door that allows access to the arm/ice won't open - the button on the side of the door to release the ice maker door will depress but can't get the blasted thing to come open. - any ideas? besides a hammer that is .....

Ours is on and makes the whirring noise when you push the lever (and there is ice in there cuz I can knock it out if I push my hand up the hole!) but it won't dispense it. I can for the life of me get the release button to push in to pull the front off to see if it's jammed. It just won't push in. I've tried, my husband has tried, it's like it's stuck and has nowhere to depress. No idea why not. Any ideas?

Thank you. Someone fat fingered our button. Suggestion to also check from another video, pull bottom front grill and vac off front coils. If ice cube freezer compartment does not get cold enough ice maker won't cycle. Also fridge cost less in electricity if clean. I have a youtube on how to tell if problem is filter related. Yes. It absolutely shuts itself off why the bin is full and will start making ice again as it gets used.

I had to hit the option button twice for ice maker light to light up.

@@Paisteboy I tried everything under the sun and still couldn't get it to turn on. That's when I turned to the internet and finally figured out that button needed hit twice before the correct light will light up and then be able to turn on. Hope this helps someone else also, THANKS!

The ice maker is turned back on and should begin the process of making ice again.

Since I don't use ice often or when I actually do, the ice is "old", should I keep ice maker off? Will I need to shut the water off?

You can just turn it off and then empty the bin. When you know that you will need ice, then turn it on a day before and keep checking it every few hours after half a day.

Did it say "ice maker off" on the display? If it did and you turned it back on but it still won't dispense then it sounds like you have a mechanical problem. You may have to call a repairman.
