I followed your directions. My whirlpool is now fixed after buying a $22 part on Amazon. A new microwave is over $300. Bingo! Thank you!

Thanks your video saved me a $150 service call and probably an overpriced parts bill. The motor cost me $40 and after your video, 15 minutes in self labor.

Thank you kind sir: When it comes to repair anything, I'm pretty inept to say the least. Our microwave turntable has been inoperable for 2 years...lol. Never even dawned on me to check out a youtube channel. This I can tackle with confidence, thanks to you! :-)

Pro tip, if you have a glass cooktop below your microwave, fold and lay a thick comforter over the top of it before working on the microwave. The smallest item can fall/drop and if hit right, will break your cooktop.

Great video for us diy types . Replaced the turntable motor and still not turning . Tech in this video says doesn't matter which terminal motor wires go back on but other videos on same repair state wires must be put on same tabs as old motor ..confused .

I REPAIRED THE MOTOR. Within the motor there is a donut shaped magnet. The central gear drops into the donut and latches on to 4 tiny tiny square bumps. In my case, these 4 bumps had worn down and so the donut was spinning, but the gear was not. Fortunately, the donut construction is identical on the opposite side. On this side , the 4 bumps were as good as new. So I removed the donut magnet, flipped it over, reinserted the central gear, and reinstalled the donut/gear into the motor casing. It is now working as good as new. I think that it was deliberately designed with these 4 tiny tiny lock bumps to limit the life of the motor, and thus demand motor replacements. It's sort of like those "TOXIC" multipurpose oils. The reason that they are "TOXIC" is due to them being modified to break down and thus need be replaced. However, the oil which is use for electric shavers can not be toxic because some of it ends up on your face. So if you use this kind of oil on say a fan motor, a fan may spin for several minutes even after you turn the power off, and do so many years after you had oiled the fan motor, because this kind of oil does not break down.

+ApplianceVideo.com I have diagnosed the problem with our turntable not working as a tiny nylon piece responsible for engaging/seating the mechanism inside the microwave having broken off. I'm thinking I'll have to replace the entire motor. But that's a tad cheaper fix than my husband's solution: Buy a new microwave. As soon as it's late enough where I won't wake up everyone in the house when I'm messing with the microwave trying to get at the model number, I'll give your parts department a ring and order the replacement part. Problem solved! And for less than a new microwave! :)
