How wide this panel to put this trim ??

Our old Sidekick refrig died earlier this month (and parts are not available) so we have to get a new one, which means a new freezer too (handles are different now, and no way will my wife go for different handles!!). But I am confused re. the requisite depth. Our old one required 24.25", but you say 26.5". I do see that in a newer SKT60 instruction manual W10691539A, but the latest SKT60 manual W10691539C (Rev-C) goes back to saying 24.25". I know I'll need a new trim kit b/c of the top plate (and Rev-C says there's now a bottom plate too) whereas our old one had a bottom "bracket" ... but am trying to confirm if our existing depth (24.25") is going to work. Thanks in advance.
