Very helpful and informative. I replaced my right side End Cap without removing the crisper shelf. The only design difference that I ran into with my Amana Fridge was that there was another mounting screw on the end of the cross piece on the back wall, near the tab in the center.

Great video. However, my Viking refrigerator has no screws to remove. I suppose that the panel should slide out by lifting and pulling. It does not. I hate to force it. Is there some secret for remove the side panel so I can slide the new one in?

On my Kitchenaid fridge, the tab on the right end cap that supports the hinge pin for the “deli” lid was broken off. (Wish I had taken a picture of it.). I thought I’d just buy a new end cap, but it’s expensive. So I went to Lowe’s and bought a small kit of 2-part plastic bonder. It’s called Loctite Plastics Bonding System. It says it fuses hard-to-bond plastics. It has a small tube of glue, and an activator. I followed the instructions and glued the broken tab to the end cap (without ever removing the end cap from the fridge), then let it set up for 24 hours. I had NO faith that it would work, I fully expected it to break off in the same place when I replaced the drawer lid onto the pin. But it held up, and works perfectly now. The Loctite plastic bonder is pretty amazing. I think it cost about $7.00.

UPDATE 1: The fix only lasted 2 days, then broke in the exact same place. I had a piece of plastic in the garage, so I made a little reinforcement piece, and glued it all together with the same Loctite glue. We’ll see how it holds up. I don’t recommend this method, too much trouble, just buy a new end cap! I’m retired, so I have plenty of time on my hands to do these types of repairs.

For those of you with screwless drawer end caps (my fridge is a Kitchen Aid model KRFC302ES00) you press in the square (towards middle) and pop it up and off from front.

Hi Steve, the plastic door hinges on both my end caps have broken off. Can I remove the end caps and glue the hinges back with a JB Weld epoxy glue or do I have to replace the end caps. I have a KitchenAid, French Door Fridge, model #KFCS 22EVMS@

If your replacing part # WPW101211977 You do not need any tools. A screw driver might be nice for wedging to replace YOUR END CAPS original parts into the new end cap but I was able to do that with my fingers. Once all the crisper drawers are out an the glass cover of the deli drawer and supports are removed it takes about 5-10 minutes to remove the end cap and install your old parts and then install the new end cap and sliders. One clip in the center of the end cap about 1" up from the bottom holds the cap in place. If you look at the new one you will see it and how it works so you can remove the old one. the back slider is just a clip.
