Congratulations on finding this Whirlpool Belt Drive Super Capacity #18 Washer! Here is to many more years of washing in good health! The Curved Flex Vane Agitator and the 210 degree agitation stroke in the Speed Queen TC5 reminds me of the Whirlpool Double Duty Super Surgilator with wings and the Maytag PowerFin Agitator & Maytag Long Slow Stroke Pitman Transmission. My SQ TC5 has comparable washing action and capacity to this Whirlpool BD washer.

@@robertgwisdala5795 Thank you Rob. I bought a Speed Queen washer back on 2013. Model AWN432 and like you said the agitator reminded me of a Surgilator and a Powerfin combined. Was a great washer I had for 7 years and gave it up before I moved to another house.

@@patcola7335 I think you'll be surprised. I sometimes loaded-up our 1976 Supreme 80 notably more than you're doing and there was always rollover ... and it had a regular Surgilator, not a Double-Duty.

@@DADoESofTX The one in your 76 had the Super Surgilator but it had the 18lb version ? No ? Where the fins flared out from under the cap instead of the being tapered ? I've seen that agitator in a beautiful harvest Gold color Whirlpool imperial Mark, 18 washer that a couple of people on the site have. That's the agitator I want to get for this machine.
@seana8063 ай бұрын
@@DADoESofTXthis machine was loaded quite full, Glenn. Any more and think it’ll put strain on the mechanism. Since I’ve been through mine and saw the gears basically had ZERO wear on them, just shows that when you are diligent with something, it’ll last a long, long time. Plus, they have been in my family since new, sort of. Since I had a conversation with my grandfather awhile back, his father (my great grandfather) had a appliance and TV shop in Fallbrook CA, sold RCA Whirlpool appliances and TVs back in the 1960’s. Since the dryer is not a Mark XII but matches the Mark XII washer, sounds like something my great grandfather would have ordered since it was cheaper than the Mark XII dryer along with being less complex.
@DADoESofTX3 ай бұрын
@@seana806 I disagree. Whirlpool used the same transmissions in residential and coin-op models, belt-drive and direct-drive versions. Coin-ops are much more subject to fully loading-up (and overloading) than residential usage. The mechanisms are well-able to handle it.
