I LOVE that your opinion of the outcome is completely honest. I watch a lot of cooking shows and none of them are completely honest. We can tell by the way it looks that it may not be that great, but they don't say it. You did and that is awesome! It looks amazing and I assume the smell is amazing also. Maybe it needed extra drizzles of the sauces to be what you were looking for? Either way, great video!!

First thanks for the comment...and you are 100 percent correct. It wasn't that it was bqd it was just not great....and it was missing that extra drizzle...

@@TheFlatTopKing For starters, I would reduce a cup of whiskey by half to burn off the alcohol, concentrate the flavor and use it to make a caramel. Make the caramel in advance and cool it so it’s thick. Add some cinnamon sugar to the batter when mixing. Then add the caramel to the batter like you did. I do like the cream cheese glaze idea but pump up the cinnamon.

I think this actually may be the best video you’ve done (that I’ve seen anyway). Personally, I think I’d thin the glaze a bit more with maple syrup, and maybe skip the whiskey so it was more family friendly, and maybe candied bacon instead of, or along with, the candied pecans. I love the idea and might try it for Easter brunch tomorrow. Good job.

Your expectations are quite high, good for all of us and it shows even the best must experiment to find the new "upgrade" to any recipe. First pass, some of the best taste of the pancake is the fresh, real, maple syrup dripping all over. That not being there may affect what you expected from the taste bud tango with the syrup, my guess.

Your pancakes would be excellent on a cold 20° or less morning. On a side note in the Caribbean maple syrup is hard to come by so they make a Pineapple syrup from pineapples, brown sugar, butter and plenty of Rum.

It would have been better if it was 20° or less as all pancakes taste better. Side not in the Caribbean maple syrup is hard to come by so they make a warm pineapple syrup from butter, brown sugar, pineapple, pineapple juice and lots of rum which is excellent on a cool Caribbean morning.
