I was surprised and excited you included starlight distillery. My husband and I try to go to Huber winery at least once a year and are apart of their wine club where we get quarterly wine shippments. Before covid we went up for a wine tasting and ended up doing a spirits one after the wine. They had the best whiskey I've ever had. They are super smooth. Great choice!

I am happy to say I was finally able to visit on Sunday, such a beautiful place and wonderful friendly people. I will give a shout out to Brianna and Richard for treating me wonderfully. I got to try the Elenore and the rye, the rye was hands down the best I have ever tasted. Hope to be able to visit again soon and love what everyone involved is doing for the whiskey scene in general. Next time I will have to come on Friday I would love to nerd out for a while with Rex and Daniel.

That Balcones Rye is seriously one of my favorite whiskies on earth. The liquor store I work at did a four year single barrel for our monthly club and it's the absolute last rye I ever want to drink.

I'm in Sacramento CA. And I've been singing the Praises of HIGH WEST to my inner circle of whiskey peeps. We are blessed to have it readily available at the local grocery store and the price isn't to harsh for the budget strained folks out there. Also, Frey Ranch is DA BOMB !

@@wasabista1613 Haha no problem. The only way I can describe that whiskey is a changing adventure. It starts off with straight up bananas smell from the Carib rum casks its aged in. Then I swear it changes into a spiced creamy cider almost. It gets warm spice yet has a creaminess to my nose. Then finishes later as a wonderful blend of woods. Once you pour it youll get the first scent change in the glass after about 10 minutes, and then again after about 20 more minutes.

Angels Envy was the first bottle of rye I ever had years ago, but nowadays I find it borderline un-drinkable. The rum cask imparts such a strong sweetness in it. To each their own, though, I’m glad people like it.

Last year, around christmas, I drove 2 hrs to Indiana to try to get that Starlight bottle because it's the only one I've seen Daniel absolutely gush over. I couldn't find it but did get a limited Christmas blend they had. One of the best whiskeys I've ever had! I can't imaging what the Sherry BiB is like.

Hey MB's and WT, just spent today, 6/19, traveling towards home from northern AL after visiting some family for the past week. Started out at Jack Daniel's Distillery and did the tour stuff as one does, and THEN drove another 5 hours to Starlight Distillery in IN. Both locations are gorgeous, and you all should check them out when you can. At Starlight I grabbed their Rye, BIB, and Port Cask finished bourbons for the collection to go with my starlight bourbon finished in a cognac barrell, and I didnt see any Sherry cask bourbon out for sale...I asked the folks there, and they told me they didnt have any more at this time. BUUUUUT, theyre currently wrapping up a new blend project on their bourbon with an oloroso sherry finshes and other finishes with it apparantly. I tried to get more details, but thats all they could tell me. They did let me know this new release should be announced/released in the next 2 weeks or so, so keep on eye on Starlight's website and/or social media! Thanks all, go forth in magnificance!

I've got an idea for a video for you guys. Look back in the footage at what words Rex and Daniel have used to describe the flavor of a few particular whiskeys. Then on camera make a blend of the foods they describe (berries, bacon, maple, etc.) with the guys deciding the proportions and then do a side by side comparison to see how accurate they think their descriptions were against the real thing.
