I've gotten into the largemouth bass, schooling like that, chasing gizzard shad, in the fall, here in Louisiana. It's great fun, and fast action. You can throw a lip less crank bait, like a Rattle Trap, out to where the fish are hitting those shad at the top, and catch a limit really quick.

No, they are seasonal. The spring is the best, but usually during the summer and early fall you can catch a few bigger ones and lots of little bitty ones.

You can throw a cast net, but they are so fast that in the clear water they can see the net coming and will be gone before it closes. I have tried several times....lol......................J
