Weve all been in chains. There isnt a race that hasnt been. Usually to our own too. Russians are known as slavs linguistically and culturally. Literally where the word slave comes from. Look up the barbary slave trade. It wasnt even unusual for all of us, all the colors of the rainbow, to be in chains next to each other. Kind of ironic we use slavery, the thing that unites almost everyone through a historical lens, to divide people.

I'm first generation in the US. From that side of my family they were not even considered white until the 1940s. My father immigrated as a child with his parents in the 1970s. My family was not in the US during slavery, in fact my ancestors were slaves. Yet no black person today, and no college "educated" person will ever look at me and assume my ancestors were slaves. The culture globally is erasing all evidence of whites ever being slaves. We need more unity, instead the culture is pushing more hate and racism.

@@degen83 that's what is so frustrating about all of this is the news pumps out that white people are the most evil entitled race on the planet and nothing can be further from the truth. I don't know a single person that is white that doesn't want equality for everyone, and they will go out of their way if there is something they can do to make that happen. But, that being said I don't see any obstacles holding back poc. We all have the same opportunities as anyone else, people these days though want to claim to be a victim instead of making something happen themselves. They whine about slavery from the past, but do you hear any of them shouting out about the slavery taking place openly in China right now against muslims by their own government? It just goes to show you how the media pushes their own narrative, and the majority of people take it as gospel.

Feel you with the "N" word issue... I am Puerto Rican and grew up half in PR and half in the States... I never understood how my black friends would always call me "n" all the time, then i started adopting it as part of my vocabulary. After a while when we would play ball at the park, I would hear others call each other that, and it was ok, and when I would say it I would have to fight for it and my friends would have to jump into the fight. I also found it hypocritical when I would hear others call white kids as " whiteboy" in a degrading way... So I stopped saying "n". I just couldn't fathom how could one group say the white kids were racist when my black friends friends' where hypocritical double standard, and racist in public to other people, bullying kids that were white, just because of their skin color. I remember the first black guy I called a racist telling me that he wasn't racist because he was black. Nah it doesn't matter if your brown, yellow, black, or white, if they hate someone because of their skin color, that person is a racist, regardless their background or skin color... PERIOD!

The whole braids "issue" makes me laugh. Multiple cultures around the world and throughout history have worn braids in one form or another. How one culture can suddenly claim that it's "theirs" is just asinine to me. Especially when so many get so upset and irate about it. Just boggles my mind that they're so caught up on the meaningless crap, when there's so many real issues that need to be addressed in society.

I am only barely 7 min into the video; but felt this was important... My maternal grandfather was a Japanese POW for 4 yrs in WW2. He was tortured, experimented on, and treated worse than lab rats. He was also the FIRST person in the American government to hire Japanese workers after the war; he practiced forgiveness. Yes, it was difficult for him (he had PTSD from his experience) to be in the same room with them, but he worked hard to overcome those feelings. I hope we can all learn from his understanding and forgiveness.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I remember my son coming home from kindergarten crying because an older kid told him that he and his best friend “couldn’t be brothers because he was white and his best friend is black.” He said “mommy I want dark skin like Daniel so we can be brothers”. I told him the other boy was wrong. He and Daniel were already brother’s and that it’s the inside that matters. Not the outside. My son is 16 and those two best friends are still brothers to this day, But it wasn’t me that taught those kids to see that people can have a different skin color. I taught my kids to love people based on their actions and that we are all the same. It was history books for kids that were too young to understand that the old, horrible views were wrong. The braid thing seriously confuses me. I know black people have worn them forever but so did the Vikings.

Wouldn't the real racists today be the counties still involved in slave trading, trafficking, selling, marketing? The eastern Europeans do not currently have slaves, but muslims in north Africa do. Where do their slaves come from? What is the price of a human in their slave markets? Do Islamic middle easterners enslave Islamic Africans? Christians? Why are the Christians killed? How do international governmental and non governmental programs impact the acts and profits from slavery? If they differentiate with indentured bondage or servitude, how many are perpetual slaves?

First of all. I am subscribing! You two are fantastic! Calling a white person a "White Boy" is TREMENDOUSLY disrespectful. You are essentially saying that you notice the color and all the stereotypes immediately and you've already started judging the person. I would NEVER walk up to a black person and say "Black Boy" because that is SUUUUUPER rude and racist in the same way I stated above about calling a person a White Boy. I HAVE NEVER called a black person the N word, Black Boy, or anything other than the persons name(of course they, they're, you etc. depending on the situation). I have been dealing with black racism my entire life. I went to majority black and Mexican public schools and had to fight to defend myself daily. My sister and I get beat up(emotionally and physically) weekly then sit in the principles office to wait for our mother to come pick us up from school to remove us from the racist students that hated us simply for being white. In the Military and had to deal with anti-white racism. I had a buddy in the military that told me to listen while he spoke with his grandmother on the phone on speaker so that I can hear the racism against whites he has to hear from his family all the time. She answered the phone by first saying, "you aint hang'n out with no white devils are you"? It continued on from there and I listened and was shocked with each comment more racist than the one before it. I had a friend when I was in my twenties that I was fairly close with until the day he admitted to me that he hates his kids because they're mixed with white and if and when it comes down to it, he would stand with any mob that decided to kills whites and if that meant killing his own kids he would do it. I didn't understand why he was with a white woman and had any white friends if he felt that way. I never spoke with him again after I called him out on his insane ideas. I have MANY stories like that unfortunately.

Exactly, even the Celts / native Irish and Brits had locked hair. They've found countless graves with dreadlock gold-plated metal rings/beads. They thought they were big finger rings until somewhat recently like around 2015 when they started putting together their placement in the graves as well as just having new eyes re-examine the items.

And just remember white people had braids in ancient ancient times, Braids and Dreadlocks are not singular to people of colour, The only fell out of fashion in relatively recent times like only over a period of a few 100 years before then they were as ubiquitous as any other culture. When it comes to slavery every people and every culture has felt the sting of both being slavers and being enslaved. Just remember the word for slave actually comes from the Slavic people, The Romans enslaved them in such numbers that the name of the people became the definitive word. I just wish some people get the clue that were all in it together, the quest for liberty And freedom for everyone is still being hard fought.

I've been told that white people have never been oppressed. So far from the truth. Only a few generations ago my ancestors had everything taken away from them and were taken to concentration camps in Auschwitz, most of whom died there. However I have not once in my life even thought about blaming a german for things that happened in the past. I am not trying to play the victim, I hate it when people play victim for things they never went through. I am simply saying that because some people genuinely believe that white people have always had it easy throughout history, and which is even worse, they try to use it as an excuse to tell us our opinions matter less than someone else's

I think braids have been around for sometime and no one has a right to name them or tell others what they can or cannot call them. Jews have had braids since the beginning of time, also if you look at old Greek paintings many of the people had braids or what would be considered dreadlocks now. It just seems silly to me about the cooking thing too, Ive actually never heard that white people cant cook and grew up in NJ with many different races/ethnicities. I live down south and whenever someone mentions soul food and fried chicken, I have to tell them that the Scottish "invented" fried chicken. (look it up) No one culture owns anything (ideas/food/way of doing things)

This is the first of your videos I have ever seen. Thank you! I've been saying these things all my life. Both what you AND Tom have said. Civil rights is more about revenge than rights anymore. When you teared up at the "Martin Luther King or Kennedy" part I felt officially connected to you because THAT is the part I always tear up to as well! It's a powerful reminder of our humanity. There are comments I have been seeing, not often but they're there, where black people have said along the lines of "Oh great! Now white people are going to hate us all and think we're all criminals because of this!". Saw it yesterday on a video of a woman in my hometown who shot a cop and he shot back at her in self defense. She died later at the hospital. It's ironic when I come across comments like that because I have thought the EXACT same thing but vice versa. "Oh great! Now black people are going to think all white people are monsters because of this!" I have seen comments expressing fear towards white people judging them and even have had friends and coworkers express anxiety over it while here I am trying not to be anxious and wonder which black people are cool and which ones hate my guts just because I'm white. Tom is right. We have so much in common and our anxiety towards one another is one of them. And I hate it. I've never had anxiety about being killed for being white until I got older and even moreso now. I just want to be left alone and to just try and get myself financially stable enough to not worry so much about whether or not I can afford basic human needs. I know not every black person hates me and that gives me hope. I want to go to my black friends family reunion with her. Not be stuck at work wondering if I'm going to be slapped with the race card for saying "hello". (Literally happened to me a long time ago. I was like "is it racist to ignore black people or racist to say hello now"?)

Notice how we hear "cultural appropriation" all the time but "melting pot" has all but disappeared from our lexicon. That isn't random. Nothing unites people more than sharing culture. All throughout history people who lived in isolated places due to geography where mountains and waterways made it hard to trade or share ideas with other cultures were the least successful societies. Those places where geography didn't get in the way of trade and sharing ideas were always more successful. My daughter's dad accidentally signed her up for African Dance Camp when she was 14. Her siblings went to a different kind of camp in the same place weeks before and her dad thought it was the same. We didn't know until we were dropping her off. If they said it is just for black girls I would have understood but instead they encouraged me to let her stay and I didn't mind if she stayed so she stayed. They assured me she didn't take someone's spot. In today's world we would have been dragged online just for making the mistake of signing her up. I would have been racist for leaving her there and I would have been racist for taking her home. Mind you most of the people who would be making those judgements would be white people. When we picked her up they put on a dance show and everyone there was excited for me to see her dance. They told me she was awful at first but they got her to let it all go and not care. I was in shock when I saw her dance because I had no idea she could do that. Miss Jamaica was a camp counselor and she put my daughter's hair in cornrows. My daughter is 30 now and made lifelong friends in that camp. Even before she went to that camp she had black friends who would sleep over and she would sleep over their house. One thing that has me really concerned is the treatment of black people that don't agree with the left because in Oct 2020 in San Francisco a black man, Philip Anderson organized a free speech rally and a large crowd if mostly white liberals showed up to protest his free speech rally. They cheered as Philip got his teeth punched out and as his teeth dangled from his gums they start chanting "no KKK, USA." They said Philip was fascist so the violence was justified. Notice how white liberals will say black people have no power unless they are like Philip and suddenly he has so much power they must be violent with him cause "fascism." They don't even know what fascism is. Worse, these white liberal supremacists complained to GoFundMe because money was being raised for Philip's dental expenses and even knowing the man who punched out his teeth was charged with a hate crime GoFundMe shut it down. I was on the left my whole life and I never thought I would think they are dangerous for black people but I know if a right-winger cheered violence against him everyone would know his name as it would have been covered nationally and his GoFundMe would be flourishing. Its chilling that all a black person has to do is not fit in the liberal's box and they can do anything to them and it's not getting any news coverage. That is scary. If you agree with them now; what happens when they come up with something you don't like? Our rulers want us to hate each other more than we hate them. I live in a place where my house cost $10,000 and I heard 9 murders from my livingroom in less than a year. I have had a man drop in front of my house from a gunshot wound and fortunately he survived. There is so much gunfire every night its amazing how few deaths there are compared to the amount of bullets fired. My hood is very integrated about 60% white and 40% black and its surrounded by 99% black neighborhoods and the only person killed by police here in 2020 was an unarmed white man. In my state out of the 20 people killed by cops 18 of them were white. Most had no bodycam footage and it's hard to find any info on them bc they all got 20 secs local coverage and nothing more. There was no scrutiny. Our local stations acted like white people were never shot by police. I am smart enough to know they didn't care more about the 2 black people killed by cops just because they got countless hours of coverage, even international coverage. They didn't care about all 20. If they talked about it happening to white people it would bring too much unity. If we joined together on police brutality what else would we join together on? Unarmed black people have been killed by police this year and now they are back to getting 20 secs local coverage and that is it. All those white liberals just wanted to get rid of Trump and now that they have they aren't going to make any noise about unarmed black people killed by cops. It's not even possible to really know if they were were good or bad shootings because there is no real coverage. I am not going to judge my own race and any race on their group identity because that is how racism thrives. They are teaching kids in schools to focus not on the individual but the group and that group identity supersedes who you are as an individual. In New York they are categorizing the different kinds of white people and none of the categories are good. I do not believe these people at face value. I believe this is the real white supremacy dressed up as caring about black people.

It's not white supremacy, it's class supremacy. The division is between the bloodlines running many of the most powerful organizations and corporations in the world vs. the working and lower middle classes wanting to make better lives for themselves, their families and their countries. The elite side is strengthened by people believing these elites have the right to rule over them (as in "if they weren't much smarter than the rest, they would not have gotten such high positions"). These people will do what the elites tell them. They think that their route to success = going through the channels established by the elites and being rewarded for playing the game in the approved way. The other side are the people who value the independence and freedom of lower classes to make their own minds up and to do what they think is wise. These people are disrupters of the systems. They test assumptions and call out illogical and impractical plans. They don't want to just work harder, they want to work smarter. So they try unconventional and innovative things which, if successful, will disrupt the plans of the elites for market domination in different fields from finance to industries to politics. That’s why Trump and Elon Musk are hated by the elites, although they are billionaires. They are creators of new opportunities from niches the conventional thinking in the elite power structures deemed uninteresting. If it were about white supremacy in any way, working class and lower middle class whites were on the benefiting side too. But lower class whites are treated worse by the elites than the minorities are. They got too smart and "uppity", demanding rights for themselves. They got everyone else to demand good things for themselves too. So in order to return most of the humankind to the position of having to do what they are told and be grateful for the little scraps of leftovers the elites are willing to throw them, the elites are trying to break the spirit of the people who inspired the whole world: working and middle class whites. Everyone thinks it would be cool to be as rich as the megarich and live the life of luxury. But everyone knows their chances of achieving it are slim to none. But a working class guy living the American dream of having a nice house, a car, enough food for the family, freedom to do and say what he wants and every now and then some little luxuries, that’s a dream most people feel is attainable. Working towards that dream empowers them and makes them discover what they are worth. They will stop settling for less than they are worth. And there is nothing more scary to the elites than the regular people realizing their own worth and working together for their own goals and what they think is good.

Bro, you are a real one, loved the reaction, and your input on things. I believe a lot of the same things, as a white boy who grew up in the hood, i learned more on the streets than i did in schools. But I love to learn about history, and things from the past. Since fighting is a carnal human desire, war and conflicts will likely last forever. The thing about teaching history, is you also have to teach about looking past what happened, and taking it as a lesson, so that we as humans don't repeat such horrible things again. If we forget about things we as humans have done in the past, and don't learn from it, then we are doomed to repeat it. More people need to learn to be more open minded, and not as easily 'triggered' by something someone says. People learn better when they talk, not when they fight. Keep doin what your doin my guy

Savi your boyfriend seems legit. I love his stance on race. Everybody should be able to make jokes as long as no one's trying to hurt anybody's feelings. It's just skin. It's an organ. It serves the purpose of covering all of our other organs and tissue. It's just skin.

I'm 50, white, and grew up in a small town in the midwest. Tom MacDonald is my current favorite artist. The man speaks truth.

Y'alls banter at the beginning is killer, and your social commentary actually made me even more emotional than this song already does. Y'all killed this shit.
