The Tdap and DTaP was introduced because the original was more immunogenic and caused more side effects, aka fever and pain, prolonged crying but had a more robust immunity. The latter part is important, as in a lot of other diseases this slight reduction of robust immunity of the newer vaccines would not be as much of a problem, but pertussis has an R0 of 15 - 17, so van diagramming with measles. Therefore anything < 90% protection in the population will give way to outbreaks. So fingers crossed we will have a better version in the next couple of years, as even for adults pertussis is no fun, and can cause fatigue rib fractures.

My sis contracted pertussis from her grandchildren a couple years ago. She was 57 or 58. I warned her not to go over because she knew they had the diagnosis. She came down with it. She said it was worse than her Covid infection. The cough was relentless and exhausting.

Ahh, No, thank you! I was given all my childhood shots, I even was getting the yearly flu shot. My kids were given all their childhood shots, plus just before each turned 18 & before they moved to dorms, they got the Meningitis "vaccine". Now, I am sincerely questioning all those decisions. Then, the chyna virus came along, and we were told mask, no mask, then " YOU MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING AT ALL TIMES!" And wear gloves, wipe down your groceries 🙄 Now, just with my meager medical training, I knew that basically all illness are either Viral or Bacterial, not both, thus Mucosal or Airborne, NOT BOTH, unless, of course it was engineered that way 🤔 I also knew that surgical masks were designed to stop Bacteria NOT Viruses. With all the conflicting advice, and puzzle pieces that weren't fitting at all ,when suddenly a new "vaccine" was developed with "New mrna Technology!" My husband, 68 at the time was ready, I suggested that he hold off a little bit, wait and see, he agreed. Eventually the shit ,I mean shots were being given in the next county (we lived in the middle of nowhere) but he seen that the lines were long(2-3 hr wait, plus an hour to get there) he was waiting for crowds to thin. However, while we were shopping (in the next county) we drive past 1 of 2 hospitals and the parking lot is empty! Supposedly the hospitals are "OVERWHELMED" yet even the staff parking is nearly empty 🤔 He brought up getting it (for the final time 😵) by this time, there was talk of "Breakthrough Infections " And I asked him when and which of his kids (5 and all grown) had gotten the Mumps, he said none, then I asked him about Measles, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria, Tetanus! Of course he said none of them ever had any of those! I asked if any of their friends had, Nope. My kids never had any of those either, and I him, "Why is that? They had all their shots!😊 Then I asked what was up with all the "Breakthrough Infections "???? I told him something isn't right!! Then nearly 2 YEARS LATER THEY SAY "OH IT WAS NEVER INTENDED TO STOP YOU FROM GETTING IT" !!!🤯🤯 They were BULLSH!TING us from the beginning, then straight up lied ,saying that the Gene Therapy was a "vaccine" ,while the cdc goes and CHANGES THE DEFINITION OF "VACCINE"! Well, with all that has come to light, most of what once called "Conspiracy Theories" should have called Spoiler Alerts, and he's grateful he didn't take that 💩💉

@@marklemont3735 Jeez, what a nonsensival sentence. Pertussis bacteria are ubiquitous, it is the addition of a phage that causes the bacteria to be dangerous. The vaccine prevents the disease by blocking the effects of the toxins and to a degree the adherence of the bacteria to cell surfaces.
