I’m a straight, cis woman staring down the barrel of 51 and have never had a moment of gender dysphoria. What a luxury! But I still love that you chose to do this video and I’m glad I chose to watch it. When I learn the real-life experiences of real people living a different existence than mine, I have more understanding and thus, more compassion for people. So instead of making a classless joke about ‘gender fluids’ and moving on with my very typical life, I feel like I understand gender-fluid better and I can see from the comments, non-binary people want to feel like they’re a valued consumer, like everyone else. Thank you for going there and thank your friend for sharing a very intimate part of themself. They killed it!

This haul means so much to me as a non-binary person, I’ve never felt more included in your hauls as I felt in this one! It can change everything to wear something that makes you feel gender euphoria, comfort and feeling the support from the ones you love 💕

As a non-binary person myself, this video makes me so happy!!! I actually sent you a message a while ago asking if you'd do a video on clothing for transgender people so i'm sooooooo excited to see you actually did this! Also i think its very admirable that even if you personally aren't feeling up to doing a clothing haul, you're more than willing to let your friends partake in a personalised haul! Its always great to see more diverse bodies in the youtube fashion-scape and i love how you've always shared your platform on this channel :) I know Alex herself doesnt read the comments as much (or at all?) anymore but if this does get to her I just think it would be wonderful for her to know that I've been a supporter for many years and have gone through so much of the same stuff. especially lately, so to see you still posting but with a more authentically YOU content lately is fantastic. I LOOOVE the bird photog videos. I love seeing your genuine excitement and happiness in videos. This was an excellent idea for a video. There are so many possibilities for the white top, black dress and the shirt-dress (with the puffy sleeves). That black dress should be part of a mass mailing to everyone with its flexible fit, classic style and neutral color. It is magical! Just keep a few accessories (chains, belt, shoes) and you are good to go...to many places. While White Fox had many possibilities, it might also be fun to try the same "gender fluid" and different body types in a style video using items from a thrift shop.

@@Berryations cis is literally the scientific word for non trans/gender queer people..? Do your research before getting angry about something like a term thats quite literally just the correct term. Literally clothes have no gender, it’s more so feminine, masculine and androgynous but the industry doesn’t understand that. By saying it’s just “women’s clothes” that adds another perspective to genderqueer people like myself that it is now too boyish and girlish so then we feel more uncomfortable and dysphoric in it ( obvi only speaking from experience but this is a common issue and experience)

I’m bigender, both a man and a woman, so it’s interesting/refreshing to see a video like this where there’s tips on masc to fem/fem to masc styling on types of items I don’t usually think to look at (mainly, in my case, layering more sheer materials isn’t my forte and now I’m curious about trying that style.) Thank you for the awesome video! EDIT: Just wanted to add -your gender doesn’t dictate what clothes you wear, but easing dysphoria by using the shape/cut of clothing to emphasise and/or hide parts of your body can make a LOT of difference.

Genuine question for everyone with absolutely nothing behind it other than interested. What does non binary mean if you still wear obvious feminine clothing? How can you exist in the middle of two genders? What’s in your head if you are? Is it a separate gender in your head? Lots of love but I feel like I might get an answer in this supportive comment section!
@xErinxx Жыл бұрын
“Nonbinary” is not a third gender, but an umbrella term for anything that’s not strictly “man” or “woman.” Therefore being nonbinary isn’t ONLY presented through androgyny/gender neutrality, it can be anything you make it because it’s a miscellaneous category. There are nonbinary people who identify as demigirl for example, which means the person feels somewhat like a girl/woman but also somewhat not. Demigirls might choose to present exclusively feminine because that’s what they feel most comfortable with, but that doesn’t erase the partial disconnection they feel with the identity of “woman” and any feelings that make them feel they do not entirely match that binary label. I hope that explains it. Personally I am biologically female but have felt disconnected to being a girl/woman my whole life, to varying degrees at different times. I am a very self-expressive person and feel uncomfortable being viewed as strictly a woman, strictly a man, or strictly in between, and my femininity/masculinity varies a lot. So I identify as genderfluid. However I am really into fashion and makeup, and honestly men’s fashion sucks so feminine fashion + being physically female, I end up just looking like a woman 80% of the time. And I’m usually fine with that, but still prefer gender neutral terminology towards me because again I feel disconnected from simply being a “woman.”
@xErinxx Жыл бұрын
Also note that when I talk about a disconnect to a binary label, I’m talking about feelings of gender dysphoria, discomfort, and/or apathy towards that label being put on you and often an inability to relate to cis people’s relationships with their genders. Your gender identity isn’t only based on how you present, it’s your entire relationship with your gender and how you personally view yourself. It’s hard to explain because it’s both general yet specific, and cis people usually don’t have a strong sense of gender like trans people because they don’t feel the discomfort or strangeness that comes with chronically being misgendered. For example when I was a kid I was frequently labeled a “tom girl” and I absolutely HATED it. I realized later in life the reason it made me so uncomfortable to the point of anger was that I felt that my elements/displays of masculinity were invalidated as just being a somewhat masculine girl, instead of simply a person who could be feminine or masculine. It was that I was presenting masculinely and STILL being forced the label “girl” when I didn’t feel that was accurate to how I saw myself. I felt all that yet I still grew up loving elegant dresses, traditionally feminine roles, and other traits that would normally strongly align me with being a girl. A lot of nonbinary people experience contradictions like that, which is why they aren’t strictly one side
@nikoward6303 Жыл бұрын
As an agender nonbinary individual, here are my two cents regarding your questions! "What does non binary mean if you still wear obvious feminine clothing?" Clothing itself doesn't really have "gender" - anything can be feminine if worn a certain way. Same goes for masculine. It all depends on the(/your current) trends, culture, even religion. "How can you exist in the middle of two genders?" As easily as there can be fractions between two numbers. A lot of people are lead to (falsely) believe that there are ONLY two genders. Although it's most COMMON in English speaking countries to be on one end or the other (say, "male" or "female"), there are a lot of people that can never reach (or don't WANT to reach) one of those "ends" - be it because society shuns them for being "not manly/womanly enough", they don't feel like they WANT to be what others want them to be or many other reasons (that can include the previous ones). Even if your gender matches with the sex you were born as (since those are two different things, despite what any adults might've told you while growing up), it doesn't mean that you fit the "mold" that society has for you. Which is why nonbinary is an umbrella term for anyone that isn't strictly a "man" or a "woman" - which includes people that are both, neither, as WELL as between. "What’s in your head if you are?" My brain, what about yours? :) Jokes aside, I doubt there's all that much different between people, unless they are, like. Incredibly hateful towards others. Those people have a hornets nest in their head, I imagine. "Is it a separate gender in your head?" That is an interesting question and everyone will most likely have a different variation of an answer. But from personal experience - not really! I am me, it's just the rest of the world doesn't always get it. But it's okay, because I can be patient, explain, educate and entertain. It can be much better to ask these things (or at least do research), than to just assume something and never confirm/deny it.
