I had a baby girl in 1987 on Labor Day weekend, I got released without an official baby name. When the hospital called, wanting an official name, I said Whitney ( due to loving the name and talent)! My daughter is grown with four kids of her own, and loves her name! So hearing a Whitney Houston song to this day, makes me sappy! Lol

Agreed. I actually like this song (and video) the most of hers, even though "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" is more popular. This one has more of a distinctly 80s sound to it, though the lyrics were similar to 60s pop R&B style (quite a few 80s songs were late 50s to 60s influenced or straight up covers of songs from then). The latter was more polished and kind of maxed out, which became the norm for pop music from the 90s onward.

I just came from a Wendy Williams "bio" video (due to her health problems of course) and they played the interview with Whitney and seeing and hearing that made me love her even more because despite all her personal struggles, she was genuine. She didn't pretend to be perfect nor did she shy away from the scrutiny. She wasn't your stereotypical "diva" to the point where no diva has acted like her before or after. If Wendy didn't announce that its Whitney on the line you would've thought it was just one of her fans from the hood 😂😂

Mercury if they are the best male vocalists and I'd bet mine and my family lifes that nor M.J, nor Mercury would admit it but rather point someone else. Case with singer is just like the case with Your care: You can't say which one is "the best", since if You want to drive fast You'll need Ferrari, a "sportcoupe", to drive trough swamps and such You'll need a Jeep and to take all Your family You'd need sedan or minivan etc. Whitney had really powerful voice, she was universal singer, same with Madonna, but then You have vocalists like Tina Turner and Bonnie Tyler with probably the most beautiful and powerful rock voices, then You have Marriah Carey with her soft, perfect for slower songs voice etc. I'm not saying Huston can't sing or she is not great singer, she is but You can mention other who were better than she was at e.g ballads or pop songs, rock songs etc. I'd place her in my top 5 the best female vocalists with Madonna, Turner, Tyler and Riordan - and what's funny all of them could do any song and sound perfect.

Quite frankly I'd rather listen to any of them than Whitney. It seems the ole' cabbage gets boiled down and we lose a part of history in an attempt to rewrite it. In 1985 Whitney Houston released one of the greatest pieces of art in human history. The album contained this song, was nominated to Album of the Year and it is simply called "Whitney Houston". The greatest Love of All, is such a timeless classic, a song that breaks all boundaries, since it's a song that reaches to everyone, and can be felt by everybody. A song about not finding love in others, but finding love in ourselves.
