It's not like one day she just woke up and decided to give her baby that name, she heard it on the musical, but hadn't she added the H at the end people would pronounce Maria like they normally do (Like in that Carlos Santana song Maria Maria), but that's not how she wanted it pronounced.

I was born in ‘90. Grew up hearing Whitney ❤ One of a kind voice, never again will we hear anything else like it. RIP. Please, please do yourself a favor and watch The Prince of Egypt if you haven’t already. The soundtrack is the BEST, and it’s where this song originated from :) Best animated film ever, imo. It’s stunning, and I still remember seeing it in theaters when it opened. Ahead of its time. I watched it again recently as an adult and it hits different - had me SOBBING ❤
