I’m really not amazed. I think Heidi lost everything for him so she felt she had to make it work. @@laurenherda2415 I think their behavior and their trajectory ever since they both got any bit of limelight and notoriety is proof positive that a parent needs to remain engaged in their child’s growth and development from day one. Stay involved. Ask questions. Correct them. Teach them. Say “no” if needed. These two, even if they are drastically different from one another, clearly have a lack of boundaries and the kind of coaching that only a kind, thoughtful but strong parent can offer. Yes, we are responsible for the choices we make as adults, but at some point in our upbringing, it doesn’t take a helicopter parent to help us differentiate right from wrong and how to treat others. There’s also a lot of narcissism and gaslighting at play here so I have to wonder how much that came into the equation when they were young.

My opinion is a bit more sinister. Lauren met Heidi at college. I have always believed that Heidi targeted her knowing about Laguna Beach fame and used her to become “famous”. Heidi and Spencer's wedding is the mid-season finale (if you were watching on cable), which is Lauren's last episode. Then Kristin takes over as the lead from second half of season 5 and 6. I can't remember when Heidi get's her plastic surgery but that's a juicy episode too, I think it's season 6 opener. But the rest of the series is JUICY AF. I just listened to Whit’s podcast episode where she and Timmy recall how they fell in love. Whit mentioned how close the talent gets with the crew, and I thought, wait this is like when Kristin had that fling with one of the camera men! Then there were pap shots of them in an airport in Canada. So while she’s supposed to be “dating” Brody on the hills, she’s hanging out with the camera guy in real life. Juicy!!
