There are no better trainers in the Pokemon anime than these pokemon masters. Ok maybe, but still. I hope we see these champions fight each other in the pokemon journeys anime.

You might think it’s a wierd mention but what about Giovanni, he usually has to hold back as gym leader especially because of his double life but the two instances where he doesn't were wiping the floor with Gary using mewtwo and more impressive in my eyes wiping the floor with ash's pikachu as well in one of ash's quickest defeats in the whole anime, oh and did I forget to mention he did that with a pokemon that almost never battles aka his pet I can see the arguments that team rocket is kind of a laughing stock in the anime and that he did lose control over mewtwo but in my opinion it just makes his power even more mysterious for even being able to create such a thing

Really good placement for Ash, I very much agree. Despite the fact he never technically beat Alain, Diantha and Tobias, and also never technically beat Brandon when he was using all his Regies, you can definitely assume he would be able to beat them nowadays, given how much stronger Ash has gotten since the last time he battled them, not to mention all the gimmicks he's acquired, be it Mega Evolution, Z-Moves or G-Max, which help level the plainfield against opponents with ridiculously overpowered mons like Tobias and Brandon. He also got ridiculously close to beating Diantha and Alain last time they fought, so given how much stronger he's gotten since then, it can also be deducted he would beat them nowadays, even if they themselves have gotten stronger in the meantime.

Plus you've gotta take into consideration that Ash fights most of these guys with rookies and the only one that is experienced is Pikachu, who while probably his strongest is frail. We see what happens when Ash calls back an Ace like Charizard and Sceptile, they just destroy.

In Kalos he even managed to get all the way through the finals using only the Pokemon he caught in Kalos and in Alola he actually became the champion and beat the strongest trainer in the whole region using only the Pokémon he caught there.

I think Alain should make it to number 8 at least he defeated 20 mega evolutions and even went up against primal Kyogre Primal groudon, and Mega Rayquaza. It may have lost to them but it did land some good blows on Kyogre. It even defeated Ash’s Greninja, and took down a Zygarde. And there is no way ash Ketchum can defeat Alain or Dyantha.

Actually Ash can definitely defeat both of them except for maybe Alain as Ash also has Sceptile, Charizard, Infernape, Snorlax, Incineroar, Naganadel (maybe), Melmetal, Lycanroc and others to choose from. Though I do hope Alain gets stronger with his other pokemon too as he was mainly good with charizard, bisharp, and maybe weavile. Though he is amazing and my favorite pokemon anime character.

@@MilitaryFighter13 Greninja isn't Ash's Strongest mon, since it never defeated stronger mons without needing to resort to that form, unlike Charizard, Sceptile and Pikachu, who all defeated legendaries without a power-up. And based on feats, regular Greninja isn't strong either (In fact if we look at feats, Talonflame is the strongest Kalos mon, followed by Hawlucha and then we get Greninja). So Greninja is the in the mid-tier without the form and top tier (But still not stronger than Charizard, Pikachu, Snorlax, Sceptile and Infernape) with the form. Heck, even Krookodile, Tauros and Glalie have better feats against stronger opponents/type disadvantages than regular Greninja.

We can guess that Tobias has a full team of legendaries. We also don’t know that he chose to go against the Elite Four or Cynthia. Even if we put speculations aside, and go by what we know, the fact that you put him so low and put him below Ash shows a very large amount of bias. Realistically, Ash shouldn’t even be on the list.

It's still surprising how Ash is still not super famous in the Pokemon Universe. He'd faced so many strong opponents who are also famous on their own, and many of his battles are broadcast around the world. It'll be pretty logical for a lot of people to know who he is, but yet after so many battles he still needs to say "Hi i'm Ash from Palet Town!". This is one of the few things i dislike about Pokemon, they still try so hard to view Ash as the Underdog when in fact he's not! We've watched him for so many years and seen how skilled and adaptable he is, yet the writers keeps on degrading his achievements every new seasons and making it look like he's isn't a threat to other trainers. The name Ash Ketchum should be we'll known and everyone in the Pokemon world should already view him as one of the best

Yeah you heard it , Flint's infernape defeated 2 of Cynthia's pokemon and her battle against Caitlin was a draw . I think tobias is wayy stronger than her just because of that.
