The commandoes are absolutely overpowered... a key thing you missed about that poison friend... and about the three people they killed... that poison damned them to hell. Even Angels get cut off from God. That invisibility engine uses the heart of an innocent, and they literally seek out the holiest people and use that poison to deny them salvation.

Regarding Choristers, I think this is my favorite line from their lore - "In their bitter rage, these dauntless ones commit a form of ritual suicide to spit in the despot’s eye, knowing they have not the strength to injure him, apart from this little rebellion." Like. God damn, the heretic propaganda machine runs well enough to convince people, en masse, to commit Ritual Suicide to do the smallest plink of damage to God.

Personally my current favorite faction isn't even one that's playable yet: The Church of Metamorphosis. Mainly I just really the bug aesthetic as well as all the gnarly mutations everyone in it gets by default basically. As well I really enjoy the juxtaposition of them being a bunch of horrible, monstrous bugmen but at the same time are supposed to be the most "scholarly" portion of Hell's armies, so much so the other factions actually make fun of them for it. Honestly just the mental image of a bugman using his mandibles as pens for writing scripture is very goofy and I absolutely love it. Unrelated but I am also a very big Tyranid/Genestealer Cult fan.

iirc it's only the Legionnaries (the upgraded form of Heretic Troopers) who actually have to do the whole "pilgrimage to the Infernal Gates" thing. Whereas your average Trooper is likely to be just Some Guy who got conscripted into heretic armies cause forcing every single trainee into a long-ass pilgrimage to a single place isn't always practical in the age of mass trench warfare.

For example, compendium tells, that tartarus claws are not just made from hellish metal, but also from the severed hands of malebranche (hope I got it right. Malebr-guys are, basically, professional torturers of hell).

I find it very interesting that all the soldiers of the factions including hell and Iron Wall, and New Antioch are all volunteers they aren’t conscripts forced to fight they’re there because they want to be. Also fun fact, if one is able to join the Heretic Legions and become a trooper you are above every other human serving hell (beyond higher ranking troopers), seriously not only are you blessed by a demon you also have the highest status a average human can have in hell. There’s kinda a precedent that if your not able to bribe a heretic trooper your not getting any higher.

You forgot (I’m sure you didn’t forget but I like saying it) you forgot to mention the alter of mammon which is enchanted to carry an illusion surrounding it in the luxurious items your enemy seek so enticing that the enemy considers land near it to be difficult terrain EVEN if your flying as the enemy unit can’t help but try to swoop down to the ground in an attempt to scoop up treasure. It’s an alter that crashes helicopters because money.

IRL sin eaters typically weren't tricked. The idea was that this person was willingly taking on sin for one reason or another. The result was a weird mix of people fearing and respecting them. Yeah it was often a way for the poor to get by so calling it voluntary is a bit complicated, but often times it was almost a profession of sorts. Sin eaters would offer their services or be called upon to perform the service on request. It created this interesting dynamic where the sin eater was appreciated for helping others but also feared as one eternally damned.

Disappointed the Trench Ghosts aren't a Neutral army, because Holy Warriors who die on desecrated soil should also be bound. And it might actually be that way just not acknowledged because "there are no such things as ghosts only demons exist..." Meaning that even if you were and are loyal you will now be treated as if you are a demon.

I have a setting suggestion if so: "Conquest the Last Argument of kings" by Para-bellum, a new faction has been released, and a faction has gotten a lot more units. there used to be lore books, but those are out of print and new versions (as ttrpg books) are being written
