I preface this with I HATE THE NIDS... I also love the Imperium as I honestly think that is the most likely future for mankind in the end not pansy ass star trek commies in space. Honestly with that said I think the nids with all the broken bs that they are would be the greatest threat in the setting though I think that's mostly due to needed a new kind of uber threat in a time when the setting got a touch stagnant which caused some writers to make an overly broken monster faction that in time will consume the galaxy no matter what happens. I hate that but unless Big E wakes up and literally becomes more of a god than he already is then makes all the Space Marines into primarchs I don't think anything other than the nids leaving the milky way a dead husk is impossible. They shit the bed bad when cooking up the nids from a long term narrative stand point as all their strengths just get better with time and their weaknesses what few the have are just short term speed bumps on the road to consumption. Every corpse they eat, every nids you kill that they then eat all makes more of them giving them more info as well as traits to better kill you next time win or lose. It's stupid broken when you stop and think about it long term as well as their numbers they bring to bare as entire tendrils of the over all hive fleet swallow up entire solar systems blocking out the light of the home star of the system. Time means nothing to them, your hate means nothing, your tech means nothing as time is on their side no matter the situation. They will consume all thanks to some poorly thought out writing that didn't consider the longevity of a setting or narrative. They do look awesome though...

Although I agree the Imperium is in fact stronger than people give it credit for if we play by the rule of "everything in a faction vs everything in another faction" because then you no longer have a splintered imperium, but rather an imperium that basically ruled the galaxy, and we're using "the setting" which is the year 40,000 which means necrons arent at their peak anymore. However, I think if we play by those rules, the Orks get a Krork, Trazyn's Krork, and the war of the beast, ruled by an ork that wasnt a krork, was such a threat that the imperium and chaos marines had to work together, Orks are the strongest, by a technicality of trazyn's krork.

It should be orks as #1 bc imperium is losing over time, necrons can be beat before they all awaken, and tyranids will make orks stronger over time. Tyranids would be a good brawl but orkoid ecology along with tech scraped from other races mean than a defensive battle would favor orks. I mean the Drukhari do actually have a reason they don’t really use their technology, they would need to work together with other Eldar to actually use it since like 99% of the better Elf technology needs you to be a psyker and they can’t do that anymore. Short of Tyranids being about to eat them actually getting Drukhari to stop being evil long enough to cooperate is a challenge. Unfortunately for all the other elves the Drukhari have most of the leftover peak elf technology from before Slaanesh and if they can’t use it no one can.

To be fair the nids only started heading towards our galaxy after the horus heresy and canonically it says in their codex that they have consumed multiple other galaxies. The other thing is that on the galactic map we’ve seen the tyranids enter our galaxy from every side so at this point they’ve encircled us. Love the vid and the channel, just rooting for my bugs.
