real question, would someone say this to a disabled person? I have a rare disorder that gave me learning disabilities and I was explaining to a woman who looked like she was around 60 years old that I had a disability that got in the way with things like math. I worked for a fruit stand in northern virginia. She then said something like "Well, bless your heart." I also mentioned to her Cher had a disability called dyscalculia. Is it always meant as an insult or could it ever be genuine toward a disabled person?

No more well done burgers and steaks my people. Our ancestors were given bad meat and had to overcook it to avoid getting sick or worse. You don’t have to carry that trauma forward. I just grilled burgers this week and they are pink AF on the inside, tender, and juicy. I too was raised on overcooked meat, but I’m breaking the cycle.

I dont want a bougie burger, I want an 80% ground beef grilled on an open flame, with a piece of american cheese, on a toasted bun with some crisp lettuce, a slice of ripe tomato, soem good pickles, ketchup, mustard, a bit of onion, and maybe a smear of mayo. Doest need to be fancy, just put together well with all the right components.

I love Selorm's hair. Its very fitting to her face and looks so sweet. A big giveaway for most black folks when "plus one's" cook is meat with redness/blood in it. I know there are some black people who like that bloody look, but MOST black people in America, In Africa and in the diaspora, do not like meat with the blood still in it.

As a black man who went to culinary school and can cook very well once you have your beef like steaks (depending on the cut), hamburgers, etc medium rare-medium you'll never go back. Beef loses so much of it's flavor when it's cooked to well done because all that heat is drying out the flavor and juices.

Best burgers I ever had were made in my family which is a huge Sicilian family, we love foods packed with flavor, definitely know how to cook up amazing dishes and the burger would be ground chuck, with garlic powder, dill weed, black pepper and cayenne pepper mixed well throughout the meat before forming the hamburger patties and after grilling them or frying them up in the cast iron skillet depending on season and weather, would top the patties while on the grill or in the skillet with mild cheddar cheese, then would have sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, banana peppers, and then we chose ourselves whether we wanted mayo, ketchup, mustard, horseradish sauce etc

When I go to a cookout, IF i eat a burger, I just want a "regular " burger off the grill. Sometimes a great burger doesn't need much if the patty is great and they got the char right. Either way, I don't often go for burgers at the cookout. I'm usually there for the ribs, chicken, etc. (I can make a burger at home 😅)

I'ma just say it. Burgers are not our strong suit. Because if you see a little pink in a burger and prefer a 3 inch dried out brick, you don't truly love burgers. My experience of cookouts is the burgers and hotdogs are an afterthought for the kids or those who smoked out and can't wait for the "real food". The grown folks are usually waiting on Unc's ribs and chicken to come off the grill or some legit slow cooked situation from the smoker.
