Could’ve picked any season from 06-09 for them and you’d probably be fine for this draft. I grew up with those teams and I realize now looking back how rare it is to have an infield that good

Total bases is such a misleading stat. You get walked, so you're on base, you steal second base. The guy behind you hits a double, you score. Totally bases? Zero
@alexlegge2 ай бұрын
Yep. Should be called “Hit Bases.” It’s also silly that baseball is so willing to make major changes to the game itself, all of which dramatically affect stats, but the mere notion of redefining stats to better reflect the game is considered sacrilege.
@aschmidty112 ай бұрын
My thoughts exactly. Total bases should 100% be how many bases you reached throughout the season

Murphy only had 1 season ever over 300 and it was barely over lol. And miggy never had a crazy year in Miami either. It hovered between like 300-325 which is pretty mid for an outfielder in this division

I would argue considering how safe he played it that was actually pretty bad. He basically took 2 risky picks and missed on both of them. He missed almost every year that wasn't a complete slam dunk. He took 4 MVP seasons, 2 recent seasons that he knew were good and then most likely the single safest player to take in Chipper Jones.
