Let’s not forget The Spirit Of Eternity. After the Imperium tortured and killed its captain, the ship’s AI decided to leave the galaxy and never come back. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if we haven’t seen the last of the Spirit Of Eternity. Wouldn’t it be cool if, in humanity’s most desperate hour, the Spirit Of Eternity shows up and saves the day? Simple answer: Yes, the Silent King left after the war in heaven in self imposed exile. Long answer: It was this 60 million year journey that informed him about Orks across the cosmos and the threat of the nyds. He returned after effectively ending his exile so as to prepare the Necrons for the coming threats. It just so happens that after coming back the Eldar spawned the 4th chaos god and a race called humans are fighting a bloody war across the milky way. Also yes the Orks also have left the milky way galaxy by virtue of the fact that the Silent King saw them outside it.

Deep within the underbelly of the Imperial Palace guarded by the Shadowkeepers is a creature from beyond the spirals. Held in an empty cell suspended in an anti-gravitation field forgotten and isolated, the abomination has shown an incredible degree of resilience where it will not even bend to time itself. Then, within the eternal halls of the unknown depths, the Custodes begin to hear faint whispers from this creature in spite of having no mouth to speak from nor the likes of which it would even know what our language is. Over time, the whispers not only grow louder and more clear but also begin to happen more frequently where it once took weeks now takes days as if an outside force is acting upon it; the lifeless husk which has defied nature is now beginning to stir. Finally, what was imperceptible to even the most mighty of Custodes became clear: *"Larry Sent Us"* It's year 745 of the 41st Millennia.

That's a pretty cool concept, never really thought about the idea that the Forgotten Primarch had his name/history obscured for his own protection or the protection of his mission, and the idea that he had been sent out to form a refuge outside of the Galaxy is dope. One of GW’s errors was grossly miscalculating how big the galaxy is. The Imperium supposedly rules a million inhabited worlds. But the galaxy has at least 100 billion stars. Even if only 10% of them had inhabited planets the Imperium would still be too small to be the dominant galactic empire. Now scale that up to a universe where galaxies of 100-400 billion stars are mere pinpricks of light and you get an inkling how far away they are. If we built a starship that could traverse our galaxy in a month it would still be too slow to get to the nearest galaxy.

Since 40K takes a lot of inspiration from Dune, I wouldn't be surprised if the Emperor had a plan similar to Leto II's Scattering. In Dune, Leto II bred the no-gene into humanity, which made them immune to prescience. This allowed humanity to spread out into the universe, free from anything that can use prescient powers to destroy them. 40K has blanks, who are unaffected by the Warp. So if they ever create another way of FTL travel, maybe something using Necron technology, they can send blanks out into the cosmos, allowing humanity to survive and be free from the threat of Chaos.

I like to imagine theirs a backdrop of a greater Ork vs Tyranid super war occurring in the void, with great massive cosmic entities beyond the reach and scope of the warp in the background as the primary threat feasting upon both.

@@TheLostPrimarch ...that's the sanitized version, my original pet theory had the Emperor find the pair of them butt fucking and eradicated them both in a fit of rage. i prefer the idea they elope beyond the Rim together, it's much more romantic, i think i'll run with that in future. My OTHER theory is that both the lost Primarchs are actually female, and there's a secret pair of legions of female Astartes lurking somewhere in the Galaxy. Can't think of a better way to keep Amazon happy...

Interesting speculation on the Forgotten Primarch. It could fit. Given that it appears 90% or so of the galaxy isn't even on anyone's scope... There are also several minor galaxies orbiting the Milky Way with 20+ billion stars in them. Plenty of real estate, but the closest is "only" about 50,000 light years away. I could see them as being Ork infested... Of course, there is the still unaccounted for and "forgotten" C'Tan, the Outsider. Supposedly "insane" and occupying a Dyson Sphere in intergalactic space that the Nid hive fleets appear to avoid. On the Nids, IMO, the supposed incoming "bulk" coming has to be consuming something to survive and there is nothing but each other, which is the easiest logical way to deal with this overwhelming menace, perhaps combined with the incomprehensibly vast legions of Necrons that have still not been awakened and/or rebuilt. Remember, if the Necrons run out of minds to run their construct bodies, they appear to have solved the AI problem and they can just build more and more of their robot warriors. Of course, that has other problems down the line...

I know u just said forget the Raven Guard.... But I just listened to both Carcaradons novels. They are clearly without a doubt the Raven Guard Terran born Corvus exiled to deep space. Their interactions with the Ashen Claws (renegades from the Raven Guard 18th chapter) confirm this very clearly.

If you'd overshoot into the void with a rescue capsule gravity will eventually pull you back to the center of mass of the system (typically the sun). It just takes reeeeeaaaaaally long time depending on the velocity and mass of the capsule.

the forgotten could have also been send there as penitence sending 1 primarch away as a massiv failsafe is an emperor thing to do either by design or to give him a chance of forgiveness either way its a solid theory and GW could just humor this one with a lil bit of breadcrums just enough to make this one seem more possible

Sending to Primarch away with all the DAOT tech and STCs to another galaxy to establish a new Goldenage empire would have to be done in absolute secrecy. The tech priests would go insane and fully revolt to know of such plans without their cooperation, seeing it as a precursor to them been made redundant.. that would be the end of the imperium. To hide such a galaxy shaking secret, all the other primarchs and the legions would have willingly go under mind wiping just to remove evidence and done personal housecleaning for remaining evidence. It would be their greatest hope, that they would return with fleets of DOAT ships, powered by FTL drives that don’t use the warp.

We’re do we think this galaxy stands compared to the trillions out there?I mean if the Imperium handled the tyranids with how devolved technological they have become. Then how many species could be out there at the level of dot man or Eldar before the fall,Necron level even Krork. Some galaxies would be less advanced some would be far beyond races in this galaxy. Galaxies are not the same age.
