People overrated Oden immensely . I feel there’s no way he could’ve overpowered Kaido based on what we saw. He definitely could’ve scarred him a few more times, but without the strain of Onigashima and Hybrid as an option, Oden would have lost regardless.

Why would Oda have Oden get tricked by a fake Momo if he couldn't beat Kaido. Ffs Kaido literally has PTSD because of his insecurities over this fact... It was implied Oden could have took out Kaido but didn't because be thought there would be too much loss of life and feared Oroichi killing innocent people... Look at what was setup narratively and what makes sense versus trying to reconcile things with power scaling your head cannon. Without the old hag with Bon Clays fruit, Oden smoking that Kaido pack.

We know the Dragon form is the easiest to damage and the worst Kaido form for 1v1 combat. I think they could’ve fought for much longer but ultimately that Kaido would have overcame Oden if he had things like Hybrid and ACOC. Oden wasn’t having the easiest time with Dragon form alone.

@@czar17_28 dude quit thinking in absolutes. You literally just said regardless of what the author wants to portray then you want to apply the logic of "well we all know Hybrid is ... " No, we don't know. Can it be assumed, sure but you don't get to dismiss what an author is doing and then in the same breath accept what the author has said as set in stone. CONTEXT matters. Quit looking at it as power scalers do. The story was clearly written to show Oden would have defeated Kaido. Does that mean he would defeat the Kaido Luffy fought? No... Oda is great but Wano has a number of issues and I think he really bumbled the arc. He could have did a lot better with regards to how the Oroichi,Oden, and Kaido stuff played out.... In my eyes I think it would have been a lot cooler if Wano was Oden vs Oroichi and Kaido shows up to jump Oden and takeover Wano with Oroichi. Setup a better Kozuki vs I forget Oroichi s family name. Have zero fight Oroichi as his main fight. Allows you to do stuff with the swords and retainers and Zoros backstory. The straw hats team up with Law and Kid to take on Kaido and his crew... Have Law and Kid vs King or use Marco in some way.

This isn’t a strict literacy test. It’s specifically using the text to make a conclusion based on what I believe. It’s not different than someone making the conclusion that Luffy is stronger than Kaido OR Luffy is weaker than Kaido. You’re telling me not to powerscale, when that’s the entire point.

Guy on the left is delusional, oden may be yonko level but he ain’t pirate king level. Oden got sat down like a child with one swing of a sword and oden supposed to not only be a swords man from wano who are supposed to be legendary compared to other swordsman around the world but he is a prodigy on the level far beyond anyone else, most likely on ryuma level or possibly stronger. Roger was sick and dying his level of sickness is severe enough that he only has a few months to live and only survived about a year due to his will being so strong.

Roger, Rayleigh, and Newgate were the strongest pirates. That divine departure was at most 2 months after Oden left Wano.

One thing that’s a fact is that strong Haki beats a strong DF any day. Now this is my opinion but I think Roger was the better haki user. In general I think Roger And white beard are relative but Roger is stronger. The gap isn’t that huge tho. A fight between the two is extreme diff either way tbh, who someone thinks would win is up in the air.

No gear 2 and 3 and 4 but gear 5 is the actually awakening so he finally found the proper transformation however he still uses 4th gear which is what will be the cause of his health deteriorating unless the straw hats tell him what his actual fruit is then an only then will he realize that 1st 2nd 3rd and 4ft gear aren't actually transformation/awakening of his fruit. The thing is that you’re forgetting the timeline of events. The Edd War happened like a year before Roger and WB fought. So just because Crocus said his illness wasn’t affecting his strength THEN, doesn’t mean it never would. Roger was going to DIE from it, in time, so obviously it would affect him physically. WB would've noticed him getting weaker if his sickness truly affected him. I also brought up him fighting as if nothings wrong with WB well into his sickness which if his sickness was weakening him, wouldn't happen. Roger doesn't act sick in fights and there's no implication its weakening him despite being on deaths door. Infact theres multiple credible statements saying the exact opposite so anything saying otherwise is just outright ignoring what the manga is telling the reader. Lastly, not all deadly sicknesses affect your strength. Especially not in fictional worlds where all it takes for this to ring true is the author to write it to be true. Oda can do what he wants and that includes a deadly sickness that doesn't affect your power.

Kaido was weaker back then. Moria was clashing relative to him(still weaker) and he got bodied by pre timeskip luffy. Also Oden is the most Marty Stu character to ever Marty Stu in One Piece. The anime cut parts of the Kaido oden fight and made Oden seem weak asf. Anime Oden got oneshot from 100% hp and effectively negged. Manga Oden was 1 second away from cutting Kaido's head off with minimal damage on him. It legit looks like a mid diff. Manga Oden can beat most Yonko's. The only one he cant beat is Shanks.

I don’t think you understand the meaning of one-shot. One shotting means the opponent fell and didn’t get back up after one shot. Kaido vs Luffy in the beginning is an example Shanks vs Kidd is an example Oden getting hit and then getting back up immediately like nothing happen is not a one-shot. Then again, I think you know that.

He had to be plugged with IV’a and medicine and without it if he even attempted to dona regular conquerors haki blast he got a heart attack whereas Roger is still fine and able to output immense ACOC without looking affected by anything. Their conditions nowhere near the same in terms of nerfing their condition

Overall roger is stronger because when they both fought they were at the same level and roger was sick , his sickness was literally killing his body at a fast rate , we saw him spitting blood and couldn't even stand because of it , so him being that strong and fighting for 3 days with prime WB saying something here

And WB’s statement doesn’t mean he knows about Roger’s sickness, he just said that Roger looked well Roger’s disease was incurable and would have eventually killed him. It wouldn’t make sense for it not to affect his physical strength over time, like all illness does
