My guess for it is simply genetics,that cosmo and wanda had the purple eye and hair gene,but it wasnt active in them,when they had the child,it became active.I forget the name of the gene,the one thats not active but still within you.Like with how handedness works out,if 2 left handed people have a child,their child has a higher possibility to be left handed then a child of a right handed and left handed person.
