I think the "man" is the player, and the "speaks in hands" refers to the player using their hands to move the controls, and the "beware" part refers to the likelihood of the player deciding to do a genocide run. Telling Frisk to try to break free from the players control.

Now just throwing this out there, but, what if, during the genocide run, EVERYONE is refering and talking to the player in hopes of convincing the player to reset or just stop. Frisk is so bland. I don't think any real person could be that bland (in personality). Plus their gender is up to interpretation (that may just to make the game for both genders, but...)

theory: susy the clam girl is talking about is susie from deltarune, the human fell down another hole that wasn't the main one but instead the room where you find chalk and you fall down into the wrong dimension... just a theory but it expains things

I think Suzy is the most mysterious,Sans or Gaster being second. Suzy's name is highlighted in yellow to indicate their importance, they are supposedly the reason why Frisk came to the Underground, they live in a place we never get to go to but can see from a distance which is the capital. there is even an elevator specifically for getting to the capital and yet we never get to use it. the flavor text for the elevator first reads that its "busy" but then after that it reads that its "not working".....why? if Chara is the narrator then maybe not even Chara could figure it out and gives us their best guess? in an earlier version of Undertale if you typed "ball" on the start menu a chime would play, that same chime was used in a song called Mystery by Toby Fox, which is a different version of another song by him called "HaverCity" which was described as the "main city theme". that may have been for a different game or maybe it's a hint for Undertale? a possible theme for the capital? after talking to Clamgirl, a new item appears in Sans' lab, a drawing like a child's drawing of "three smiling people" this indicates a possible link between Suzy and Sans. what that connection could be I haven't a clue. the capital is mentioned quite a lot for something meant only as a backdrop, I personally believe (and hope) that Toby means to update Undertale, perhaps the story isn't quite finished? the game itself is mysterious, with all the unanswered questions about Sans, Gaster, Suzy, and the Capital its likely there could be more coming. also it's worth noting that in the secret Room where Toby Fox/Annoying Dog is he is laying on a piece of fabric with lots of holes in it, and there is flavor text saying that he hasn't finished "patching" them yet. this alone is enough to suggest at least the possibility of more to come. what do you all think?

I think Gonner Kid, and Monster kid Are somehow connected too each other. This mostly comes from game theory's video about gaster, but matt patt stated in part that Asrieal killed Gonner kid multiple times, with the Hyper Gonner weapon, explaining why he dosent exist in the first place. This might also explain Gasters followers too, but I'm just not sure completely. I also heard about some theorys that Monster kid is a Orphan in the underground, but I can't find any proof at the time. The theory goes is that Monster and Gonner kid were siblings at one point in time, the catch is they were the only one in they're family, until the time that gonner kid was removed from existence, erasing all trace of memory of they're existence. Which is why Gonner kid never mentions anything about his sibling. What do you think?

@Okey 2 years late but flowey cannot cross the barrier, if he could, he wouldve killed 7 humans on the surface and become asriel and reset the timeline, the waterfall writings also NEVER mention a soul being required for the barrier to have an effect, in fact, it says "anything can enter through it, but nothing can come out" it says ANYTHING not ANYONE

I have always thought Gaster was probably the most mysterious character in undertale, because first off There is many many mysteries and secrets in undertale and a lot of them are linked to Gaster such as 2 or 3 lines of dialogue the river person says about a man who speaks in hands or a man from another world, there are also many other secret messages, rooms, and audio which have secrets and mysteries that are connected to Gaster. There is a mysterious audio file that appears when you do things in the audio files of undertale, which plays a couple creepy voices basically telling you to quit snooping in the audio, the voices seem to sound like some other mysterious characters such as goner kid, or the Gaster followers, so it might be connected to Gaster. Also, there is the fact that the word Gaster is never said at any point of the game, Even in the image/png files, the image that is believed to be Gaster, is just named "mystery_man" So it is not even 100% confirmed that Gaster even ever makes an appearance in the game. Then if you edit your save file and change the room number to a specific number you will be in a black room with creepy disturbing music called "smile" playing while messages in wingdings are shown on the screen and once the text is done, it crashes the game. Then if your fun value is at a certain number or value, there is a white door in a hallway in waterfall and inside the door is a gray room with a man in a black coat with cracks in his skull with empty eye sockets and a creepy smile. If you interact with him his eyes get white dots in them like sans' eyes, and fades away, without any dialogue at all. Then also Gaster does not even speak normal, he speaks in the wingdings font and his speaking sound is a lot of different sounding noises. Another thing I want to point out, is that when Toby was making undertale he was inspired by a couple other games like EarthBound, in one of the games there is a secret that might occur when you use the light switch where a black and white head thing called _Eboa_ appears. Eboa looks very much like the mystery man sprite, which is probably gaster, maybe this is what the river person meant by "a man from another world" referring to gaster and eboa possibly being the same person appearing in different worlds... There are probably still more mysteries about Gaster we still have yet to find. So if you ask me, I think Gaster is the most mysterious character in undertale. *Hopefully this makes sense..*

Another thing is... as goner kid talks about not existing, there might possibly be some sort of mirror dimension that is similar to the underground, that the Gaster followers and Goner kid might be from like what the internet calls an au. Maybe, goner kid, and the g. followers are from a mirror version of the underground and they sometimes appear or glitch into the other dimension and goner kid might know that he is just a mirror version of monster kid and believes he doesn't exist. Also... The G. Followers and goner kid are gray creepy versions of some other monsters like one in MTT resort, or one in hotland at muffet's bakesale who ends up buying one of muffet's pastries. So I believe the g followers and goner kid are from an au or mirror dimension...

In the intro movie (though that is believed to be Chara) it looks like it's around autumn or spring.

For me it’s between Memory Head, Redacted or the River Person. Or... That person in the grass in that... inaccessible room in waterfall... who was that, and who was behind us..? There a millions of possibilities, like Gaster with his whole being-outside-of-time-and-space thing, or Chara with their reputation of having a creepy smile and the fact they’re a ghost (I think). It could even be Sans with his permanent smile and shortcuts.

I just wonder.. if we were able to talk to other monsters about the River Person, if they would be able to give us details about them. Perhaps they're not really even there. What if that creature really was Gaster, but he's deformed, or he's hiding. Maybe from *ALPHYS* ! It sounds crazy, but hear me out. Alphys is the new royal scientist. What if she had been trying to take Gaster's place for years, trying to get into the spot as Royal Scientist so she was able to perform the disturbing experiments that ended in the Amalgimates (not sure how you spell it, I'm sorry if I'm wrong!), but couldn't do it in any other setting because she'd be attacked and killed for the atrocities. So maybe to get the spot of Royal Scientist, she shoved Gaster into the reactor, and perhaps he survived! And to avoid alphys finishing him off he hid, and took on the roll of the Mysterious River Person. And seeing as he was supposedly scattered through time and space, perhaps that's why he's able to be the river person, and also show up in that room where we see him. That would explain why he disappears so quickly when you try to interact with him- he doesn't want anyone knowing he's still alive! Or that he's still a "tangible" creature! Because, due to the accident, he's weak, and he can't defend himself. So he has to hide from Alphys so that she can't finish him off. Or worse, perform a twisted experiment on what's left of him. But that's just my own theory on this.

What I think to be interesting is that depending on your behaviour, flowey transforms to another *chara*cter. If you are peaceful(pacifist), he becomes the peaceful asriel. If you are violent, he becomes Chara. If you are neutral, he stays neutral(flowey)

Ebott, and you both go to the mountain, you say it's a bad idea, you walk down the mountain, Suzy lies, saying "I'll be right down!" She instead falls into the Mountain, and adopts the name Chara, and Frisk, after 2 or 3 years of worried parents and friends, Frisk goes to find her, because you know where she is. Frisk thinks she didn't fall down, but trips, and starts UNDERTALE. (Suzy isn't the Monster Kid secret, it's Chara) Like if you agree!

So, I've always figured that, since in the Library books from Snowdin it states that whenever monsters die their dust is spread on their favourite thing so they can "live on in that object," and that when Asriel died his dust spread over the garden, his memories were in that flower, which was brought to life via Alphys's determination injection.

as we know monsters cannot pass trough the barrier on their own, in fact they need a human soul to pass trough and cannot absorb a monster soul , so, for their point of view, they need an human soul to pass, but we are actually reading what a monster needs to have if wants to pass trough the barrier, but us, humans, may don't need a monster soul to pass trough the barrier, so, technically, what we see in the neutral run is us crossing the barrier on our own, without a monster soul because our human soul is the key to pass trough. So: our human soul is the key to cross the barrier->we can pass trough the barrier without a monster soul, that is literally useless for that purpose,but a monster can't cross the barrier because he needs the key that is a human soul
