One of my favourite things about Papyrus is how well he understands his friends. He tries to help Alphys build up her confidence and, whatever happened when she left to go home, she made it clear to him that she didn't want him following her. He also probably thought that maybe he didn't know how to help, but his new human friend is always helping others. But he was still so concerned that he called Frisk and told them to go see how she was doing, looking like he was really concerned. Despite being obnoxious, he tried his best to care for his friend while still respecting her space. It made me really like him as a character.

The skeleton brothers have found a place in my heart. Maybe because they are the friendliest souls in the entire underground. Also, have you noticed that Sans and Papyrus are like "Yin and Yang"? Sans is laid-back but depressed and Papyrus is friendly but a little agressive, especialy when he hears puns.

Papyrus is the only main character that does not atempt to kill you and can't kill you. If you cheat you can die from toriel, she even has a sprite dedicated to killing you by mistake. Papyrus ends the battle then and there . Also i think he is the only character that lets you go after loosing to him

I personally love Papyrus so much simply because of how friendly he is. How early on he is lets you call him for most of the game, giving a nice reminder that there are characters supporting you if you feel defeated. This also helps in scenarios where you can’t call him (like the CORE or true lab) or the genocide route feel really tense and lonely.

Papyrus isn't my favorite (Alphys is), but he's a good person, a good foil to Sans, and an underratedly good character in his own right. He just has a lot to learn about how interpersonal relationships work. I felt so bad for him when he said he thought he was obligated to date me because I flirted with him.

Could you please make a theory about the similarities between Alphys and Monster Kid? They are both yellow, both have these "spikes" on the back of their head, both got those weird teeth, both got tails (i mean, those reptilian, thick tails) and Alphys' arms are short, where as the Monster Kid doesn't have any. The only difference between Alphys and Monster Kid is that Alphys wears clothes, Monster Kid doesn't have arms, and we don't know if Alphys has strips on her body (and i don't even want to know). Also, Monster Kid never tells us who his parents are. My theory is that Alphys is Monster Kid's mother, MKid thinks Undyne is "soo cool" because Alphys tells him about her, because she has a crush on her and talks about her all the time, and Alphys' species has no arms when they are young, and they grow up slowly as they are aging (kinda like T-Rex) Also, about MKid's line: "My *parents* are worried sick." he could just simply lie. (Remember, he is Alphys' child, and Alphys lies... A LOT) Finally, Alphys' husband. (This will get dark) So, Alphys' personality is so "depressive" probably because her husband divorced with her, because she was staying in that lab all day (proof: talk with Catty & Bratty) and MKid stayed with his father. This is why MKid says "Ha ha" in a lot of his lines. He tries to hide the pain with laugher (just like with all monsters in the underground). Same with Alphys. This is also the reason why she has a crush on Undyne, who is a female too. She is desperate into finding another "soulmate". This is my theory. If you say this is not possible, tell me why you think so. As a prize for reading all this, have a Butterscorch pie: 🍰 Damn, i should write a book.

Well. He is kinda weird, in first look. But next time we can understand, that he is really kind and nice person. First - spaghetti, even cold as an ice, but it was for us. Second - that gorgeus snowman. Third - Papyrus is very polite, he's carefully and accurately presents us his puzzles. Would he do that, if he's not good? He must capture the human. But there is no force from his side. Next we're fight with him. He want to be our friend, but he also want to become Royal Guard member. So, he just have to. On neutral route he is can do that about 3 times, if we lose to him. And yes, for the first time in forever we are really can to lose and staying alive. Other monsters just will kill us, and doesn't matter how they're good. I mean, even Toriel can kill us, if we'll be not careful with her fire attack. But Papyrus? He's unable to kill us. In any way. He worries, when we're escape from his shed, and if we insult him, he don't mention that, he even tells us we're great. I don't think he's stupid or something, but he does not pay attention to it. He let us go, because he is capable of mercy. He wanted to capture us, to become a member of Royal Guard, remember? It was his dream, it was really important to Papyrus. But he refused his dream, because of us. Next! On the date, even if he acting a bit funny and weird, in the end he always says we should care about ourselves, not only about him. He wants us happy. On the waterfall, he called us and tries to help, lying to Undyne about our outfit (or not lying, but we can understand that). Even if that's not works, he tried. As good friend of us. On other phone calls he can tell us some advices, or say something really good, like "I wish I was talking to my cool friend. Look, it's coming true!" meaning us. And he even try to make us friends with Undyne. He ran into window, yes, but he's still there, listening, waiting to put some help to us. He is really fun character, by good. More funny than his brother, really. Puns are good, but Papyrus can make us laugh everytime without any of them. And even more good things about him, but much important happen on genocide route... Because he can show us his innocent kindness, forgiveness and bravery. He welcom human with open arms. But it doesn't mean he do not care about his life, or he don't understand what happening. He does. He worries. But still, he tries to do his best - to change human mind. If human kills him, Papyrus still believe in them. They can do better. And if they spare him... well, he can befriend them, even they're hates puzzles. So... guess, that's all the reasons why Papyrus is so popular. But maybe not. Anyways, it's still work, because after all I can't do a genocide route only because I unable to kill him. I never tried and never will.

Asriel is my favorite character! But mettaton is a close second- asriel is truly the adorable face of undertale's past, with a lot of history behind his character that was brought up so well. And mettaton really changed entirely from the beginning to the end of the game, realizing his past mistakes, and trying his best to make up for them. Papyrus is probably my 4th favorite character, right after flowey for his careless violence XD

The first time I got into Undertale, I didn’t like Papyrus. I managed to get out of it for a while, but then.. 3 months later..; “Idk what fandom violet should be in” “What about Undertale?” “Idrk, I’m not into the fandom anymore” “Then get back into it again!!” “Um.. ok! I’ll do it!! YAAAA!” I searched up “Undertale” and I watched Jack play through it. I absolutely love papy now, and literally everyone else. Not a single character I hate. I can't decide if my favorite character is Papyrus or Undyne more, because they both fight very hard for what they believe in and to protect those they care about, doing even more than those people realize because their subtler actions kind of go against their archetype. Papyrus deciding to be friends instead of capturing you because he finally realizes that he likes you, what he does to try and help you in the face of Undyne, how he tries to spare you on the genocide run, how he dates you because he thinks you like him, how he's such a nerd but is totally open about it, etc. Undyne trying to become friends with you as revenge (lol), teaching papyrus how to cook so he will have something else he loves besides being in the guard which she's afraid to let him into due to his kind heart, how she realizes how Alphys feels and tries to help her, how she feels bad even when she finally manages to beat Asgore for the first time because he was so nice to her. Aaaaaah these two!!!

My personal reactions throughout this video: 1:14 - Ok well I think that it's his kindness, so I kinda hope this video is about using the process of elimination and dismissing all the other reasons.. if not the argument better be good! 2:25 - yeah, they certainly compliment each other, but what does that have to do with anything? 3:49 - that, to me, is one of the saddest parts of the genocide route.. I may not have played, but I've watched... The first time i saw it i nearly cried.. 6:53 - Yes! I may not have been exactly right, but man, was I close! It's his personality, basically!

He may just seem like a narcissist at first glance but Paps is just a guy trying to keep his self esteem up in the clouds by finding a friend. He didn't need to be in the royal guard to make friends, he just needed his carefree attitude and his charms but he never realised that there's more to a person than their job role. To be fair he did have quite a few friends like Undyne and Alphys. Friendship is not about people showing you with attention and love but it's about spending time with someone you care for, whether it be an intense cooking lesson or a friendly chat online. This is why Papyrus is one of my favourite characters, he never understood how special he really was until the human came along. He also makes spaghetti and that's my favourite food ever. Sorry, I'm rambling, as you can see I'm a massive undertale fan.

One thing i found out was that if you kill papyrus in a neutral run(you psychopath)snowdin wont be as "happy" so killing papyrus is basically the worst thing snowdin will experience I literally reset the genocide route to befriend everyone again btw

it may be because he is fully aware that if we finish the game, if we leave, he can't continue to spend time with us. He may be worried that we'll never play the game again leaving the game to gather dust. He even says "I'm not ready for someone like you to leave again" or something similar to that. I may be wrong though.

I can only think that the reason that papyrus is optimistic, while sans is the opposite might be because they can "see" timelines. If papyrus only knew about pacifist, they have the dejavu of frisk being nice. Thats why he says that still belives in you, as if he knew something. Also the way papyrus leaves the screen when you are heading to hotlands. And papyrus mentioning "photographic" memory.

Did you know If you re-fight asgore (on a neutral ending) After the omega flowey / sparing flowey Flowey will have a few dialogues with you In one of his dialogues He says that Papyrus is the best character to mess with And it took a while to get bored of him And flowey also say that you musn't stay with his brother (Sans) He says that Sans is the character that caused him the most trouble even with the powers of resets
