@adamushu4 ай бұрын
Its both, obviously the better the card and the rarer makes it more expensive, but the finance types do skyrocket prices as well. Pokemon had this problem recently, where some influencers talked about how they made a profit collecting and selling cards. So stock was bought out, and many children who just liked the cards, and serious players were dissapointed at the rising prices. They had a different solution though, they just massively overprinted to drop the prices and make investors lose value. Now the game is in its signaturely low price tag again after a bit of time.

Then made dark magician, red eyes burn, skull servant, millennium eyes restrict, thunder dragon and most recently mementos and yes I'm calling them that because it's easier. FAQ'S No I really don't run ash or max C I occasionally run some hand trap counters that may or may not let me steal a monster or draw 2. No I don't win that often and my highest rank is plat 3. Yes I am aware that I should be running 3 x ash to stop my opponent playing the game but I prefer when the game was about what you could do rather than what you can stop your opponent doing straight into a concede. Yes I do run stuff like cobra and chaos angel but also feather duster MR and Raigeki and I'm not blind to the modern meta but I find it more fun to make 60 card retro theme decks and find uses for stuff like The Giltia retrain that I SWEAR is gonna get better when they unban dragoon xD however if that happens I have a nasty red eyes burn exodia otk I wanna try and make lol.

Oh no won't someone think of the "investers"
@autobotstarscream7654 ай бұрын
What he's saying is that investors will buy up all the Tier 0 cards and make *YOU* give them their return on investment if you want to play the game and do anything besides sit their helplessly as Seto Kaiba smacks you around with his credit card, laughs in your face, calls you a third-rate Duelist with a fourth-rate Deck and shames you into leaving Yu-Gi-Oh!

Gotta love the intentional ignorance in the way the question is framed Any other set with a DM focus he would chalk up to being boomer nostalgia bait and how that business model is enough for Konami to keep making those types of decisions But now that this set has a downside (one that probably effects vendor and collector friends of his) suddenly it's not "Why are we doing DM nostalgia again" but "Who is this set for?" as if there's no possible explanation for it

@@niklasmilonas Yeah, those youtubers always shit on casual experience saying it never existed because it wasn't tournement meta, like a few guys playing in a tournement was the only way to play yugioh for decades and totally not peoples playing what they enjoy meta or not

Please explain how this helps casuals?? No casual is looking for a retro pack 1 printing. All cards in retro pack 1 have been reprinted to death. You want a DM… no casual is gonna wait for this set to by a 1 Cent card.

@@MikeDaaBeast you really should stop thinking about money all the time. Its also not for helping. My brother in Christ its for nostalgic fun.

Meh anything to screw the "investors". Keep in mind that the secondary market does nothing for players or for Konami. If someone wanted to screw over players by buying as much of the short prints and chase cards as they can, they can absolutely do so. That said, I still don't understand the point of this product.

I think this is probably for people like me. People nostalgic for old Yu-Gi-Oh but haven't kept up with the game and know that competitive is too expensive to get into...but I might drop some money to get to open up either some old cards I had in the day or always wished I had. They know nostalgia is a big market and they don't seem to mind milking that.
