All rifle slings are basically the same thing and therefore they're all tied for best. But some slings are more best than others.
Slings in this video:
Ferro Concepts Slingster
Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling
T-Rex Arms Sling
Magpul RLS
Magpul MS1
WellsMadeCompany Aloha Sling

I learned to sew and it has honestly changed the way I look at most gear. If i don't like it, I modify it to my liking or desired function. I've turned gear i thought was crap into something usable again. Slings are high on that list.

@@burtbiggum499 Start by watching some KZbin videos on how to sew by hand. Then if you don't want to spend a lot of money, I found a $300 Singer sewing machine with nothing wrong with it at the Goodwill store for $12. I bought a cheap quick adjust sling off of Amazon that has VERY good webbing (the "brand" was "DMAIP"), very soft but strong material, but it has terrible QD's on it, so I had to use a razor blade to cut the stitching out so I could replace the QD on one end of it with some decent BCM one's, and then used my sewing machine to put the same stitch pattern back into it. Works great and I saved a lot of money. The sling I got is made with really good material, but the QD's were unusable. Still worth the buy, if you're able to replace and restitch the QD's.

My first project was a dopp kit(travel case) from Klum House. I used a very entry level sewing machine and followed the pattern instructions. I made mistakes and learned so much from just an entry level project. Small achievable goals is the key to sewing. I got discouraged with a larger project and had to step back and remember my skill level. Go to a local store and ask simple questions too, crusty old ladies love a man who wants to sew.

MS4 is great. Good to have the option of single point when nut damage risk is minimal. Haven’t gone hard enough to see the adjuster slip. Also qd endplates are a better attachment point IMO than the far side of the buttstock. Takes just one more quick movement to do shoulder switches and it never interferes with my cheek weld

Edgar Sherman hands down makes the best sling. Ferro’s metal buckle constantly scratches your rifle. When you attempt to adjust the length, it never stop where I want. It has to slide to engage the cam, so it ends up losing tension every time I tighten it. Sold it it just a few months after buying it.

I do like the magpul and vickers slings but i havent tried any of the newer ones like trex. I do have a viking tactics which i dont really like for a few reasons. While the buckle adjust system works fairly well i do not like a loose tag end that is sooooo long i could hang myself with it. The other part about the viking i dont like is that the metal buckles are so heavy they TWIST the sling around alot AND they can mark up your rifle. I like the magoul and vickers because they are easy to use and leave NO TAG end to strangle yourself with and the sliders are light. Warrior Poet has a sling available that i would like to try... money is ALWAYS a issue for me though so i am limited. ALWAYS LOVE your content HOP keep it ROLLIN SIR! LETS ROLL!!!!

IMO homemade is your best option if you’re even moderately creative. 3-5 Tri-glide slides, abt 6 feet of nylon tube webbing, and a few feet of paracord- all from Amazon, and a cam-buckle like from an ALICE pack. Put all that together and you have a decent tactical sling starter pack. Assembly videos are all over YT. Total cost is around $15, most expensive part is the cam buckle.

Best thing about the Magpul slings is the wide variety of QD/clip attachment configurations. I like being able to easily switch from 2-point to 1-point. Although 2-point is the way to go for hunting or military applications, single point is probably optimal for urban protest/riot situations, where weapon retention and 360 degree maneuverability are going to be prioritized over long term carry comfort. Would love to hear your opinion about the Warrior Poet Society sling!

Of all the ones I own, I like the ones I made myself from 3/4 inch webbing and little buckles I grabbed off old backpacks and old Walmart buggy seatbelts lol. Costed zero dollars zero cents. Not metal buckles that ding up the finish. Best part also is they gather up into a tiny bag with the MPX and others alot easier than let's say my Magpul one on the Rattler that is alot bulkier. I had to create my own quick adjust tho. And I like it better so far than others I've tried. Plus slings are expensive considering what they cost to make. Not bad if you own one or two rifles. But they add up fast when you have let's say 10 or so

ESD is my fav sling, and T-Rex Arms' sling is basically the same shit with a tiny amount of padding, which I like. Used to have a Ferro Concepts Slingster and it's way too chonky and stiff, it just gets in the way. Prefer minimalist slings like the above aforementioned. Drop 6 slings are $35. Best bang for the buck, IMO.

I think it depends how and when you are shooting. I do better if I can use the sling for stabilization and that means getting it around one elbow to press. It makes a huge difference on how much I wobble at any targets beyond a hundred meters or so. If I happen to be hiking with a ski pole the combination of gripping the pole in my hand and tensioning the sling means a lot more steadiness for a kneeling shot.

Two-point yes, quick adjust not so much... Yes, I want a sling to be adjustable for what I'm wearing, but after that, if my adjustment doesn't allow the freedom I need, I just swim out of the sling. After trying several adjustable two-points over a number of years, I bought a 100ft of 1.5" coyote brown soft tubular webbing for less than $30, and a bunch of plastic buckles and QD swivels and make my own. I don't even want the rear connection to be QD or a swivel; if I want to free myself from the sling, a front QD is all I need. That QD, on an AR should be just forward of the receiver, which is consistent for me, because I put the same handguard (except for length) on all my ARs.

Getting slings for most tactical rifles is easy, but I have a bunch of fud guns pressed into tactical service and they use old-school sling stud swivels or they have no sling mounts at all. Spec Ops Brand is one of the few that makes a variety of slings for old weapon systems. I have a Benelli M2 field 21" that is my go to shotgun. I have the Spec Ops Brand Lonestar single point that just loops around the "pistol grip" slope on the stock...so I am holding on to it as I'm shooting. Not ideal, but it's what I have since I ditched the factory magazine cap that has a sling swivel stud and I have an extended mag tube that doesn't have a sling mount option.

I have a bunch of ES slings in multiple colors, some BFG vickers slings, a Haley strategic D3 sling (the 100 dollar one) and T. rex arms slings. If anyone wants to buy any hit me up lol

Have you ever tried out the AR Stoner line of slings? I think they are solid for the cash.

I have one of those on my hd shotgun, just needed some sort of sling on it and quick adjustability doesnt matter for that application. seems solid enough, i like that you can switch between hk hooks or qd buttons. that helped me figure out what i want to do with my ar15 (turns out hooks are dumb when qd exists). the nylon material is pretty rough though, i wouldn't want to hike with it. you could add a aftermarket pad but then you are in the 40-50 dollar range and you might as well buy something better at that point
