Yeh we have a toy hauler and it’s crap. Axles actually broke and found out the whole system was faulty.

There is no "correct" WDH. The proper advice is to get a tow vehicle that can tow your trailer without one.

Thank you so much! We plan to buy our first RV in a month. To be honest, I haven't been in an RV since I was a kid. I have no idea what I'm doing. So I've been reading and listening and learning. But this video gave great advice with which I made a checklist.

My 2022 Ram Promaster Camper Van built on a 2021 chassis has been sitting at the dealership three months plus months waiting on a new transmission at only 18000 miles. It failed during a bad rain storm. I’ve read about water intrusion issues and flex plate issues. Any insights? Is the nine speed more reliable?

Quick question, can I run pex to my low level drain lines for permanent water supply? In my mind it works… just running backwards.🤷🏼‍♂️but need other minds to chime in. Thanks!

Hey Jim, curious if I have to replace the entire pex tube where the clamp ring is leaking? Or can I use the same tube but only replace the ring clamp?

I’d love to see a review of the Winnebago Solis 59PX. We’re first time RVers and are loving our little class B, but I recently ran into the “pex fitting to flexible tubing” issue while trying to upgrade the shower valve. I’ve watched the videos and will probably replace with a flare-it fitting. But now I’m wondering if I need to go through the whole rig and do ALL of the fittings. Ugh.

I recently saw a Super C for sale, it was a 2023, still listed as New. Low miles like 900. My question is, is it wise to buy a 2023, the original price was $525,00 listed for $310,00. Had many options. I realize there is a huge hit driving it off the lot, what type of discount would make it a good deal. It was a Newmar. If that helps determine your advise.

hey dude the inspection of a bearings every year is $600 so you are saying $600 every year? no fkg way is that good advice. i don't use the easy system. you should be able to say how many miles not every year
@undercoverrvtech
@undercoverrvtech 2 күн бұрын
The service manuals for Dexter say you should inspect the wheel bearings every 12 months or 12K miles, whichever comes first. Lippert axles are every 12 months or 36K miles, whichever comes first. Most RV owners don't hit the mileage standards, so inspecting the wheel bearings every 12 months would apply. This is all according to the axle manufacturers. Regardless, it is up to you how to maintain your RV! I’ve linked Dexter’s service manual in the video description if you would like to check the “inspect bearings every 12 months” specification as well.

I had a customer come into my dealership asking all sorts of engineering questions about the 450. He asked about negative pressure in the wet bath. We consulted with ATC, and they had to redo the entire 450 line. You're welcome. lol Overall, I love ATC, I think they will continue to improve with time.

Thanks Kevin! Because the guy who did this video is absolutely f****** terrible. You may know s*** but you obviously can't come up with a way to communicate that to everybody else. Horrible video I would not recommend anyone and I'm not even going to thumbs up it even though I fed the algorithm with a comment, a long comment because at least he was honest enough to say that it was on you Kevin. I'm in Kevin's situation. So I do not have the need for extreme heat. But I came up with 20 different ways to fix the situation before we even got a minute in. So to the gentleman doing the actual video please stop being biased in situations like this. We do not care to hear it. If you have better recommendations then the hard side A-frame a liner that people like me are interested in that can collapse into a pop-up please by all means say something. Other than the a liner is s*** and you should avoid it all cost because if that's the case you'd be out of a job because all the f****** RVs in the entire industry are garbage compared to the price that they're charging for them.

Don't even think about putting a full-size Jeep in a 3-axle ATC toy hauler. I own a 2020 ATC 4023 Toy Hauler and it has 1-2 bent axles. I contacted ATC for warranty and was denied. Please read below what I copied off the Dexter Axle website. Dexter does not recommend triple Torflex applications of our standard axle because Torflex axles are totally independent and not equalized like a typical leaf spring set of axles. There is no ability to transfer loads from one axle to another. When traversing uneven operating surfaces such as driveway entries, railroad crossings or speed bumps, the entire load can be put onto one axle causing severe overload. It isn't reasonable to expect one axle to carry the entire load of three axles when these conditions occur, even though these instances cause only momentary over-loading. Dexter Axle does offer a specially designed 7000, 8000, and 10,000 lbs. Torflex axle that can be used in triple applications. We refer to these axles as our T series of Torflex axles. I have never carried more than 6,200 lbs gross and my trailer is rated for 9k lbs yet my rear axle is severely bent.

As I have commented before....there is flex tubing designed to be used with PEX clamps and fittings. You need to read the side of the hose and get the number to confirm.

Had a leak after 2 years on one of the hose to pex fittings from water heater- would have ruined my storage deck and made a real mess of the underbelly as would not have been caught until permanent damage done. Sure glad I had removed panel to place a leak alarm when I found it. Many other similar connections not leaking "yet". Replaced all incorrect / bad plumbing, and used brass fittings where I needed new ones. In addition, replaced plastic low point drain valves with brass. Took about two days total, crawling and contorting in the storage compartments and underbelly, and about $200 in materials (plus another $200-$300 specialized tools needed to cut off old cinch clamps etc in tight spaces). Really disappointing on a 120k$ RV! Manufacturers should be ashamed as very low cost to do it right the first time.
