It was a glitch with the Pandora’s box relic. Normally it replaces all the strikes and defends in your deck with different cards, but the glitch just makes it remove all of them instead.

Wtf this actually makes me extremely pissed off at the game. This is the first I'm seeing a run anything like this, and I cottoned on to the fact you'd need an attack potion early on, which I thought was brilliant, only to find ***the game has been lying to us the entire time***. Attack potion effect: "Choose 1 of 3 random Attack cards to add to your hand, IT COSTS 0 THIS TURN." OP, you've revealed this for the lie that it is. Once it goes into your discard pile then back into your hand, it costs its original cost, despite you being on the same turn. This makes me madder than it should, but I think it's crucial this game clearly communicate its rules to the players, since there are so many surprise interactions that can crop up.

I don't know 100%, but from what I've gathered, there's a glitch where once you get Pandora's Box, if you close the window with the cards, and immediately open the Settings menu, or something, the cards don't enter your deck. You should search for it on KZbin, I bet it's better explained somewhere else.

However, it was patched out a long time ago. The reason he was able to do it here is because he had an older version of the game. So you can't do it in the current version even if you tried.

It's not meant to be a technically difficult run, but more of a demonstration of beating the game with zero cards, while showing how I got to that point. I did consider just cutting out everything up to the first act, but then I might as well just edit my deck to give myself what I need at the last second. At least this way, you have a reasonable explanation of how such a deck is obtained. The same thing of course could be done with Peace Pipe, but the method of obtaining the zero-card deck just really wasn't something I was focusing on here. Also, it's the most downvoted video I've ever released but still the most viewed video I've released in the last year, so clearly a number of people agree with you but many still find it worth watching.
