Actually the turbulent flow gives you less resistance than laminar :P. That's why super-aero deep section carbon wheels have dimples on the rim surfaces, like on golf balls - to create turbulent flow more easily.

I think the length of the power stroke is the most significant, so Si is the smoothest pedaling presenter. I would also argue that Si has the most "ingrained" natural smoothness, because attempting to be smooth ruined an otherwise smooth pedaling technique.

I'd say all are equal based on various pluses and minuses, depending on what you measure. However, if you add a factor based on hair, Matt is 3rd followed by Si. Which means the Boss is most definitely the smoothest.

@earthstick9 жыл бұрын
Simon 1st with that big power phase. But I wonder if he is increasing his power output by pulling up in the second 1/2 of the revolution? Some say that is a waste of effort because the muscle to lift up is weaker than the muscle in the opposite leg that pushes down. So it reduces torque and power. If you look back at the video they did on clipless pedals, they tested Simon and found that pulling up has little or no effect compared to pedalling naturally. That is backed up here where Si's attempts to pedal smoother had the opposite effect.
@JustinHutchings009 жыл бұрын
