If I listen to the text then I would say Slovakia or Finland. The Russian had a nice voice. But she and a few others are sounding like they are just making sounds on the rhythm of the music. And French sounds like singing words

The Veronica's version is the most distanced from the original - changed the most. It was the least genuine: like Kalinka sang by Britney Spears :) So 5th. But she sings beautifully, good voice - just needs to sing more naturally. It can come by age when you don't need to pose anymore - just enjoy the music. Lorelai Music was 4th, yet it has the sweet homemade tone - reminds me of how Ievan polkka is sang as a lullaby. Not with all the vocal, mostly just the äppyt tipput- refrain, or just hummed. So it had an authentic feel. Lerna and Anna are very good, but the Finns could even speed it up :) Anna is 3rd, because she was a bit shy and tense. Lerna is 2nd, she's close to the original, and for an Italian the Finnish pronunciation is not very difficult, especially in a song. It was maybe a bit towards. The Hatusne Miku and Holly Dolly from the original. So Tuuletar was not a fair comparison - they are naturally fluent. All should be foreigners. Oh, and the French version was disqualified :) The singer was not shown

@@timomastosalo This was my first a capella cover on KZbin I made. I didn't have even the equipment so I had to record it on my phone which made it really complicated to synchronize and the outcome can seem like a bit tense that way :) But thank you :)

@@anieena ok... but I wasn't speaking about that.. I spoke about what is closer to Loituma, not the tech of the recording - lower or higher quality wouldn't change that. Veronica here imitates some pop stars, not Loituma. She should lidten to the Loituma version first. this sound she mostly listened to the Russian version,. So when Loituma already did a cover (of a song that was originally sung by a man telling how he took Eva dancing), this is a cover of the Russian cover of the Loituma cover :)

@@timomastosalo I quite understand your points and agree that Veronica didn't quite get the "folk nature" of the song. As for me it actually really would sound different, because the possibilities of phone recording (regarding the interpretation, voice loudness etc.) were a lot more limited to get a usable recording. I couldn't record it the way I can now with the proper equipment - just couldn't sing that way because the result wouldn't be usable. I recorded it multiple times due to that back then and it was very frustrating so I'm really not making it up :)

It's gibberish, there isn't really one way to sing that part lyrics-wise. Even Loituma, the most famous performer of the song changes that part every time they perform it because it's more important to get the feeling right than the "lyrics". That said I dislike the Russian version since she didn't get the feeling right at all.
