Laura workman almost hit it flawlessly. She stood out among all of them by a long shot. She also had the most control over her vibrato and moving from breathey to head voice. It really goes to show that she's possibly the least known out of all these singers but definitely the most talented for this specific song.

One of the things that makes this song so difficult, in addition to the insanely high notes, is the wide range. Usually singers that can hit the high notes aren't likely to do the low notes well. That, and the slide from low to high is crazy diffiuclt and only Laura Workman truly nailed it without throwing vibrato in to cover up the break.

A better test than even Diva Dance, is Opera Number Two which has consistent high and building notes that Dimash is incredible at singing.

@@efraing5264 No, I'm not stupid but I'm yet to meet a stupid person that doesn't ask other people if they're stupid, people seem to be preoccupied about other people having the condition that they themselves have. If you think that Dimash sings the same notes, you're clearly not a singer or seem to have very good hearing for that matter as not being able to tell the difference between autotune and someone who can actually sing, indicates. If you knew the first thing about Dimash's background, you'd know that both his parents are top class opera singers, that he's had intensive voice and singing training since he was five years old for twenty years, that he's also a top class player of several instruments including drums and piano that he began learning at five showing a very good ear for chords. He even did two different university music courses, one for classical and one for contemporary singing. He could perform adequately and proficiently in any opera. He's probably about the most experienced and educated singer for his age on the planet. I've seen professional opera singers and voice coaches who have no idea how he can do some of the things that he does but you get that with true genius, people who have it find a way to do what others can't do at all. He has absolute pitch perfect hearing and voice control which is more than I can say for you if you're so clueless about just how incredible Dimash is as a singer but as with most things, the less informed someone is, the less they realize just how amazing this singer is. You kind of notice that after watching about 500 reactions to his song "SOS" for instance.

While all of them did an incredible job, and I agree that the 3 you mentioned are the best, I think Laura and Dimash kinda "cheated". Laura had the original playing under her singing, obscuring mistakes she might have made, and for Dimash the background music pretty loud, and his version was also modified to be slightly easier. Dimash used multiple highs in a row instead of high to low to high. Jane did it the cleanest, the music isn't hiding anything. All 3 are amazing though.

For me (pure personal preferences) there is one clear winner: Dimash. That guy is, hands down, in a class of his own. His interpretation is so intense, so vibrant, so powerful... a feast for the ears (and the eyes, too). His voice range is insane, clean and sharp in the lowest as well as in the highest tones - absolutely amazing and superior to the female competition (which struggles/gets bland in the lower tones). Besides him, I liked Laura and Jane most.

Ok Laura's performance is in fact the closest to the real thing if not spot on... Jane makes me ache when i see her - i am afraid she will either burst or miss a note or something... she is correct but i do not enjoy it... Dimash's version (the Bastau one) is by far my favorite although he does change the original in two different parts. I would love to hear him hit the original notes but his performance is by far my favorite - standing ovation every time.

Laura Workman, but that anybody can even approximate that run with their own voice is an insane accomplishment. I'm equally impressed by anyone that can move up from that lower register note to the high falsetto without their voice cracking. Anwargheddon Jane Zhang also hit every note, in tempo, and her vocal trill was actually punctuated and not just a slide. Laura also had the actual song playing in the background which made it impossible to hear if she alone was actually hitting the notes. Especially because she got VERY soft during the vocalizing.

The impossible part about it was being able to transition so clearly and quickly between the notes. They recorded her hitting the notes and spliced it together to create that beautiful piccolo-sounding staccato.

I'll be sincere. It is Dimash. Because his Lowest and Highest notes were the lowest and highest notes of all lol plus that it is impossible for a man to do a note that high. He sang it higher than the original :) It is even hard for most women to go high and he literally reached the lowest and highest ranges here. I even liked his version better. Just personal opinion. Dimash ftw simply because he's the only guy and sings better than all the girls too. Jane (Zhang Liangying as I know her) may not have perfectly matched the original, but for vocal quality and the sound of her voice, she's my #2. Laura did really well but TBH I couldn't tell how much the background track covered everything, as some people say it hid a few errors. Also, she didn't do the full aria like Jane did. For pure fun you gotta love Elena House, who sang well and also re-created the scene. So there you have it, 1, 2, 3.

I've always been really harsh on anyone who tries to attempt this song. Changing the melody or completely skipping notes is a negative in my book. All have impressive voices, but part of the difficulty of this song is the order of the notes and the speed. I would tie Eri and Melody for 3rd Jane is massively impressive although she skips a couple notes she scores points with me because she can actually do the aria and Il dolce suono is not easy. But being as this is about the climax and not the aria Jane takes a solid 2nd. 1st I give to Laura and here's why. Laura is the closest to the original, her timing is near perfect. She doesn't try to go too high or too low to show off her voice. But most impressively she can do most of the autotuned parts. The really difficult part though, no one to date can mimic those sounds at that speed, not yet. But Laura doesn't disappoint, she hits most of the notes but timing is most important. Side note, I'd love to hear Vitas sing this part.

Laura Workman is the only one who both did it in the style of the original recording AND hit every note (fellow musicians will hear what I'm talking about). The others who did it in the style of the original recording didn't hit every note. And the others who diverted from the style of the original...well, they weren't satisfying to my ears at all. I am a classically trained musician, though, so that really effects my level of expectation insofar as an individual's interpretation of a piece goes. That being said, Laura Workman is still the only one to do the original style and still hit every note--not to mention the fact that her intonation was dead-on, whereas a few others' was flat. :)

Every performance is worth to hear. In my opinion Eri Sasaki and Jhane Zhang come very close to the original. Dimashs voice at the end is insane for a man. If you listen to the original you can hear that they added parts technically. But yes some of them come very close.
