Yes this is the largest by it's size but the biggest wine collection is also in Moldova at Milestii Mici winery and it's in my village that is called Milestii Mici.

@@negruion1365 Actually Mileștii Mici is the biggest. It has 200 km with around 2 million bottles. Cricova has about 120 km with around 1.25 milion bottles. So Mileștii Mici is the biggest and Cricova is 2nd biggest wine cellar in the world.

The kindness of the people of old Romania (whole Moldova and the rest) is the real discovery on that part of the Earth. The history was cruel with these guys for centuries and they have to learn how to live and deal with oppressors from all the cardinal points. The fact that Romanians are still on the map today is a miracle. Thank you Ivana and Steve for your amazing videos, you guys are great and always welcome on these lands.

Placinte are amazing! They can be with cottage cheese/sheep cheese mix, sour cherries, apples, and pumpkin -my top favorites. But there is more, like those with cabbage,(even pickled), and mashed potato/onion mix. Honestly, all are amazing!

Incredible Moldova.To those rankings that say it is the least visited country in Europe,I would so go visit Maldova,the little country that could. Fun fact.In Malaysia we have a cake that’s similar to the black cake.We call it Kek Gula Hangus,literal translation is Burnt Sugar Cake.The sugar is actually burnt 1st before it’s put in the batter. Sometimes the same cake is called Kek Sarang Semut,translation is Ants Nest Cake due to the little tunnels-like texture of the cake.

In Romania we do not use burnt sugar, if you search "reteta negresa" which means negresa recipe, you'll find out how our type is made ...it's like brownies... but btw nice recipe too (the one you've described)

What a beautiful cathedral...and yes you can see the Russian influence in those onion shaped domes! Loved all that history in that Mongolian bath house! Loved the spectacular view and the bunch of sheep 🐑 and goat 🐐 ( Ivana's friends)Lol!!! 😂 The food looks just fresh and amazing! Their cellar full of veggies and fruit ( canned and bottled) is wow! For food and wine you go to Moldova or Georgia ....very few people know that in Moldova or Georgia high end quality wine is not expensive and regular people can afford to drink it !!! ...water is more expensive than alcohol in Moldova...

Rep of Moldova is not boring at all. Just unfortunatly during soviet rule and the forced russification of the territory, many historical landmarks were destroyed or left in ruin because the soviets wanted to remove romanian and moldovan culture. Slowly they are being rebuild but many are lost forever sadly :(((

BTW, there was no forced Russification, in fact any sort of Russification. There was and still is brutal Romînization. There is not a single Moldovan school left in Moldova, all were transformed after 1990 in hotbeds of Romînization. It is a captured state with the only purpose of completing the cultural genocide of the Moldovans and Russians so Romania can finally be able to put her claws on this piece of Moldova that escaped for so long.

The dessert is called in Ro Negresa , but looking at the texture of the Moldavian s Black baba dessert, it may be a different recipe than the classic Romanian. You smashed it with the wine cellar. Moldova is the world’s largest wine cellar. I suggest to change your title by adding up something related to your visit in the cellar.

It's a different one,this one is made with cocoa,milk flour,eggs ,etc,but we also have another one wich is like the kuih,is called crema de zahar ars (burned sugar creme)

Go to Cricova underground city near Chisinau! It is mandatory!!! :) And, when you'll go back to Romania, go to Sturdza Castle, Miclauseni, close to Iasi.
