It is called Noul Neamț because the monks from Neamț has to leave in 1864 the Principality of Moldova that was just destroyed by the Judas Cuza, and flee to Russia. That ... also confiscated the lands belonging to the Neamț Monastery and gave them to the Wallachian occupiers, so they could build the palaces and mansions we see today in Bucharest and Sinaia. It's so clean there because it is not a free country. You probably get beaten by the police if you litter. Also, that football team is called Sheriff for a reason. The main consortium run by the local oligarchs is called Sheriff, that big grand building in the center of the city is their head courters. They own all the retail shops there, the big farms, the factories, the sport teams, you name it. Be advised you are not visiting a liberal European country when visiting Transnistria. Transnistria is for the Republic of Moldova what is Donbass (Donetsk and Lugansk) for Ukraine and Abkhazia and South Ossetia are for Georgia. Came here to say the same thing. It really is a Russian geopolitical scheme.
@lucianboar34893 жыл бұрын
No, it is not like any of the ones you listed. Less bridges have been burned between Transnistria and Moldova than the case is with the rest, which really are at each others' throat. One proof of that is football, they don't have a separate championship, transnistrian clubs play at home in the Moldovan league. Which is very unique with clubs from breakaway states. Everytime they form their own league and the clubs that don't agree with it are exiled. One reason for Transnistria's unique position is maybe because it was built less on Russian nationalism and more on a sense of belonging to the Soviet Union that was no more (be it Russian dominated). Also they're smart enough to know it's better to be a little parasitic to Moldova, not cut themselves from that market. Which speaks to Moldova's uniqueness too, they aren't as hot blooded as Ukrainians, Georgians, Azeris...

@@aofg "Pseudo-nation called Romanians"? Are the French (mix of Gauls and Romans) or the Spaniards (mix of Iberians and Romans) pseudo nations too? The mix of Thracians and Romans brought up the Wallachians, Moldavians and Transsylvanians among others. Due to the same history and language (a Romance language similar to Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese) they decided to unite and to label themselves "Romanians" (a term coined in the 19th century by intellectuals of the Transsylvanian School which connotes the city of Rome and the Roman Empire). The secular dream and geopolitics of the Czarist Empire was to conquer Constantinople and to dominate all Orthodox nations of the Balkans. Therefore the history and fate of the pricipalities which later on became Romania was decisive influenced by the area of tension between the three rival empires: the Czarist, the Ottoman and the Habsburg. If you don't like Romanians, it's your good right to do so. I'm personally pretty critical of them. But you are distorting history in a blatant and mendacious way. Hmm. Well this was a hard vlog to make to be honest. We did visit a museum that talked about the Moldova - Transnistria was in the early 90s. But we decided not to include it, because it was so pro-Russian it seemed almost like propoganda. We had quite a bit of footage that we didn’t use actually! We don’t want to get too political on our channel, but one thing for sure is Transnistria is an interesting place for travel. Anyway thanks for watching!!

Did it occur to you that people live there and they fought not to be opressed on their own land? Transistria exist not because Russia, but because people there don't want the fate that expects them under the yoke of Rominoid extremists from Chisinau. The Russian troops were invited by the criminal Chisinau authorities that attacked Transistria and when they realised they were in danger of losing the war and be judged for war crimes and cultural genocide, they asked for Russia to intervene. This guy should be very careful with info he finds online as almost everything related to Moldova was falsified by Romanians. They even got deleted the Moldovan wikipedia, an unique case.

If you feel yourself as hostage touch your nose 2 times. Just some jokes, over the moldovian spyes when you pass there xD. It looks really sad what happen to that region, i am sure they will get to integrate better with moldovians and Romanians in future, is just such a shame for what's there to give the impression of some people which lives out of education and modern days. I feel like they deserve to be part of some country and keep them local traditions there. I can see them as part of Moldovians to keep going, even as part of Romania if they up to befriend the romanians/moldovians and just have faith and trust in Romanians/Moldovians ( not likely to come easy for them, as they just open to russian politics and influence as they probably wouldn't speak that much english/romanian ).
@Hal-rn2qm3 жыл бұрын
They will never accept Romanian or Moldovan rule. Official buildings there ALWAYS fly two flags, that of Transnistria and that of Russia. Also most of them have Russian citizenship. It's basically a slice of Russia squeezed in-between Ukraine and Moldova. If they would unite with any of the neghbouring countries (Ukraine included) they would be nothing more than a Russian fifth column and a factor of instability.
@niaroma23753 жыл бұрын
@@Hal-rn2qm Yeah it depends idk , you may be close to russian, but when your region looks like shit and you could show wealthy on the west side of the nistru, i guess they may at one point consider to still be part of Romania/Moldovia, expecially if they would keep them own minority safe, unlikely for them to happen if they would be part of Ukraine( as them laws slow russian heritage). Sometimes i wonder if they really watch youtube or discuss with others from outside in english.

I was there 4 or 5 days before you stayed in the same hostel. We visited only Tiraspol and it was Friday or Saturday, so there was partying going on and apart from the Russian language, it could've been any European city. We were a lot of a little bit tipsy foreigners and were roaming the streets - nobody bothered us, right the opposite, some people came and started talking, wished us to enjoy Tiraspol, etc. The center is clean, modern and it's definitely not Soviet (apart from the fact you cant pay with a credit card). And it is 100%, not Moldova. It is its own country, no matter what people say.
@antoniudraculea45073 жыл бұрын
It is 100% Moldova no matter what people say. And this doesn't come from some random lad who doesn't even know how much time he spent there. This comes from a transnistrian. As soon as russian occupation troops leave Transnistria, Crimea, Abkhazia, S Ossetia, they go back to Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia.
3 жыл бұрын
@@antoniudraculea4507And it would be because the people would want that or because Moldova/Georgia would have bigger armies? And your name doesn't really look like a Transnistrian name. :))) So, most likely you are either Romanian or Moldovian.
@antoniudraculea45073 жыл бұрын
@ ''And it would be because the people would want that or because Moldova/Georgia would have bigger armies?'' It would be whats fair and whats legal. Otherwise, give Transnistria back to Moldova for 30 years (so it has just as much time to influence the population as the other side has), then place Transnistria under UN control for a month, hold a referendum and then that can decide. ''And your name doesn't really look like a Transnistrian name'' You don't think I use my actual name randomly on the internet right? ''So, most likely you are either Romanian or Moldovian.'' 40% (the relative majority) of Transnistrians are moldovan (romanian). Moldovan is by definition a sub-type of romanian. Just like bavarian is a sub-type of german or texan a sub-type of american. The fact you don't even know this is evidence enough you have 0 idea about what you're talking about.
