Masai would never trade Pascal to Detroit (because of their hopeless losing culture currently). The last time Masai spoke to the media, he mentioned that they had an offer at last year's trade deadline to deal Fred, but out of respect to Fred - where FVV felt being dealt there would have put him at a disadvantage when it came to free agency - he did not deal him there. He did not mention which team was involved in that deal. It was because of this - even with the alleged locker room turmoil between him and some of the younger players where he knew it was time to move on - after Fred got that massive offer from Houston - he still gave the Raptors a chance to match the offer. That was Fred returning the respect that Masai showed him last February.
@jeffreyvalentyn681511 ай бұрын
If Masai actually did that that’s ridiculously stupid. Toronto couldn’t match whatever Fred was offered much less what Houston offered him, Fred knew that and Masai should’ve known that

As you can see with OG, Pascal needs to go to a team with an established top 10 player, and Pascal becomes a great 2nd option Pacers look like an amazing fit and i don't see Pascal favouring larger markets either, so Indiana should be able to resign Pascal
@vancearmstrong454211 ай бұрын
The Pacers seem to be foolishly passing on the opportunity to add Siakam. Its possible they know that its more of a gamble as to whether he'd resign but all indications are that he'd for sure be resigning with Indiana in the event he was traded there considering the ideal basketball situation it would be next to a top player in Haliburton. Woj said never say never but they really don't want to give up Jarace Walker. Its a massive miscalculation of how good they would be if they did Brown and Walker and a pick for Siakam. Also, the odds Walker is ever as good as Siakam would shock the Pacer fan base that can't conceive of moving on from Walker. They don't realize how good Siakam is and how rare it is a given player drafted at number 8 turns out to be that good. The idea that Siakam is a rental may be overblown. Whoever trades for him can offer him more money than any other team for one thing. The messaging he is putting out about not wanting to resign with other teams if traded might just be about the fact that his incentive is to get a contract through Toronto, who can pay him more than anyone he is potentially traded to. So he doesn't want to get traded, he's just trying to get a new contract from Toronto. As soon as Toronto gives him the offer he takes it. Toronto hasn't given him the offer because they are restructuring around Barnes and want to see if the can trade him for assets that fit their team better. If they don't get such an offer, they will give Siakam the contract and he will sign it. Siakam is not an upcoming free agent because he wants to test the free agent market, its because Toronto is trying to move on from him. This means any team that wants him has to trade for him and will not be able to get him in free agency this offseason. Indiana, with their massive need for an upgrade at power forward, should see this as a miracle situation. There's a team with a surplus of 2 way power forwards looking to move on from one of them. It seems unprecedented to the Pacers that they would trade Walker because Walker hasn't played. But it would be similar to trading a player on draft day. Its not such a big deal.

I don’t think Pascal wants to stay in Indiana. He has been relatively unknown to the NBA public because he plays in Toronto . He will want to go to a bit of a bigger market to increase his value and exposure. Indiana is a place where careers die
@vancearmstrong454211 ай бұрын
@@clementampong9353 Halliburton is a face of the league level talent turning 24 years old this year. And he makes everyone on his team better. There might not be any teams more appealing than Indiana. Average fans don't know about Haliburton yet but he's going to huge in the coming years, like a new Curry. Siakam's contract is the number one issue. If he gets traded to Indiana and they give him a 5 year max, there's no scenario where he doesn't sign it.

OKC would have to gut their roaster for a star like that. OKC is already way better than the current Warriors team, plus they have a really bright-looking future ahead of them. OKC is in a great spot. A young team like that needs to lose the next few seasons in the playoffs, cut their teeth, and stay together. In a few years, they could be a championship-level team with a few smaller role playing vets that can come off the bench.
