He probably wants to stay in Florida... Let's not forget the reason Reinhart is doing so well, Barkov and Tkachuk... Does he have a 50+ goal season with another team? Probably not. I can see him getting 8m, maybe 8.5m from Florida. On the market maybe 9-9.5mil. You dont want another Hube situation

Dude, on the open market, he could get $10 million. Over the last three years he's basically been a point per game, and now he's a 50-goal scorer. Plus, the cap is going up significantly this year. He hits the open market, he can get $10. Perhaps he'll take less, but he can get $10.

9-10+m easy just based on other wingers get and the cap going up, he's 28 so he's gonna be swinging for the fences on this one, wouldn't be shocked if he's on a different team come next year with all the UFAs florida has coming up, doubt they can afford him.

For the next CBA, I think they need to create a formula that offers bonuses to players to sign in markets that are less desired in the NHL. A market can be less desired because it's too expensive to live in, too cold, overly-taxed, etc. The point is, places like Miami and Tampa get all these guys on deals, and the rest of the league can't attract the talent it needs, on average, to compete. I think the best way this system could work would be based on a limited and controlled number of 'no move' destination clauses available, with priority going to the senior most players getting first dibs in the first round of picks. After each player picks their first choice of 'no move', the next round continues, until each player passes. However, I think each time a player adds a no-move, it should require a $100K fee, removed from their contract, and paid direct to the organization they slighted in this manner, possibly also impacting the cap of the team that the players don't want to move to, too. I think this simple little system could fix parity in the league, a little. Suddenly, teams with higher caps, could become more appealing.

Are GM's really dumb enough to overpay a guy for one outlier year that just happened to occur the year the players contract was up
@rickyrougs10 ай бұрын
are you dumb? same reinhart is a great player. putting up great numbers on terrible sabres teams and then showing his true potential when playing w competent teammates. this isnt a one off year. he’s been scoring 30+ goals and 60+ points a season since joining florida.

The Buffalo GM signed Skinner after one outlier year and that turned into one of the worst contracts

@@BRIANDER100he had 2 bad seasons. Yes he’s overpaid but his production is still worth around 6.5M
