Dr. Sikorski trained at the Robert Wood Johnson- New Jersey Medical School Department of Anesthesiology and continued specialty training in Cardiac Anesthesiology at Deborah Heart Lung in Brown’s Mills, New Jersey. He continued his career as a Cardiac Anesthesiologist and Chief of a private practice group of cardiac anesthesiologists in New Jersey before coming to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland. He is now the Director of Trauma Anesthesiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is very active in resident and fellow education as well as Trauma Simulation. He has published many articles and textbook chapters on hemorrhagic shock and hemostatic resuscitation. His current research interests include trauma resuscitation, viscoelastic monitoring, the effects of the inflammatory response on coagulation, goal directed therapy in critically ill surgical patient as well as the pre-hospital care of the trauma patient. He is also currently active in Prolonged Casualty Care training with the 193rd Spec Ops Sq of the USANG.
