Cas, this video was just what I needed today! I have a request for the next one: Can you please keep a timer in the corner of the screen so we can see the actual passage of time? As a fellow ADHD lady, I struggle to estimate how long a mini-project would actually take to complete. I know everyone operates at their own pace, but it would really help people like me who can’t even kinda guess (which often is a big roadblock to starting.) *I also appreciate that you did speed up some of the more tedious steps. It was sufficient to give us an idea of what you were doing without subtracting from our own time unnecessarily.

When my daughter was ten, I let her skip her homework because she was practicing lock picking, and that seemed so much more useful. Sure enough, last month she was at an event and the park district forgot to unlock the vendor's gate, so nobody could leave. Sheet solutions for those who need more than one set per bed. 1- sheet tote is in the closet or under the bed of the room it will be used in. 2- sheet colors are purchased based on bed size, not room decor. Here is an example; king sheets are white, queen are cream and twin sheets are grey. Purchase bins with colors that match and a random color for pillow cases. Just throw the sheets in the matching bin.

Our wedding rings and other nice pieces of jewelry have gone into a "safe place" during vacations, or when one of us needs surgery, etc., only to be discovered a year or more later, in a really odd location, typically discovered through serendipity. I've been following you for at least 10 years. This is one of my favourite videos EVER. It's exactly what I needed to get motivated, and the dialogue was a perfect model of what I should be doing as I declutter. I'm that person who touches something and thinks of 10 different ways it could be useful. My cluttered home makes me feel ashamed, and like I've failed my family. I can't have friends over because of embarassment. The stuff we use is left out because my storage is full of the stuff we don't use. Finally, I started letting things go. I've gone through half my kitchen and have a trunk full of donations already. Thank-you so much for this video! ❤

I started hobby hopping in my 30’s (now 46). I was trying to find my niche. I’m still exploring a bit but did find a few hobbies I enjoy. I did martial arts for a few years, getting to high green belt (halfway to black) before taking a hiatus during Covid lockdowns (and never returning). I got certified as an NRA firearms instructor (4 certs) and only did one series of training with youth (have since turned down multiple training requests). Then I tried sewing (ehhh, no). Finally I started dabbling in various forms of acrylic painting and LOVE it!! So that’s my jam now! I also love reading - mostly Christian fiction (LOVE Ted Dekker’s allegories). My house is a mess and your videos, which I’ve only revelry found, are very helpful! Plus you are super relatable. 😊 Thanks for keeping it real! You give me hope that I CAN finally not only get my home in order, but make it a space that’s functional, warm and inviting without it becoming sterile and hard to maintain. Thank you!!!

Also, we take all of the band aids out of the containers and throw them in a plastic container Then when you need one, you just grab it out of the bin. Just a thought, of things that work for my family. Maybe they will work for yours too. :)

Yes too many hobbies, when I retired two years ago to watch my only grandchild I went through a lot of my stuff and donated. I was into making felt food and I worked at a preschool so every pretend kitchen had my work for grocery store and restaurant. It was very calming but my house was like a mini Michael’s. Embroidery was easy to give away because my eyes aren’t so good anymore. Kept the last afghan I was working on but otherwise donated all my yarn. My granddaughter is my hobby now.😃 This video was terrific because you exposed so many flaws you have, I mean that in the kindest way. I used to watch your afters and think I could never be that organized and you are phenomenal but…..I do fold a good sheet.😄I have a small home and have too many blankets so I am going to donate six and put one in my hubs car, like they say to do. I have a cabinet to nowhere under the kitchen sink and I put stuff I never use there but like you say why? I’m going to go through that tomorrow hopefully. Hubs will be gone, he doesn’t like to throw anything away. Granddaughter is totally potty trained at 2 1/2 so I can get rid of all the diapers and pull ups except maybe 5? in case she gets sick or something. I have always collected toys so it is a problem to give any of them away. I used to take them to school for different units but now I actually have a kid who plays with them. Vintage Fisher Price never goes out of style and Barbies and everything she needs. I do have a problem.😳😆🤔 You are so much fun, thank you Cass.😘

Best video ever ! Listening to your questions and answers and HYPING yourself for every decision you made ist GOLD! I will try to be more like you (in every possible way ❤) and celebrate myself for every decision when declutterring. The decisions are the problem , sooo hard, but you made it look easy

Your self-dialogue is LITERALLY the way my brain works & I sound exactly the same when I’m doing this process. 😂

I don't know if you've ever taken the Clifton strength tests, but I can bet you're probably a learner. You like to learn all the things, and that's why you had so many hobbies your ADHD hyper obsessed over. I've got the same thing, but instead of a million hobbies, it's a million book idea and several classes at once to learn ALL the things. Gotta remind myself to grab Skillshare because that dessert class looked amazing! Thanks for all the inspiration, your upbeat attitude and the realistic and raw way you show us your process is way more motivating than just a scripted encounter. Thanks so much!

This was awesome…as I sit here…in my pj’s…watching you declutter…but it does provide motivation to get me moving…uh, decluttering. I’ll tackle the bedroom & closet…wish me luck!! One quick tip I now follow is to have only 2 sets of sheets for the bed. One for using, and as soon as I take off the dirty sheets, I put the clean ones on. I store the clean sheets under the bed for my room…but I do fold mine😆😆

If you keep the little pack for flowers in your vase, then you’ll remember to use it 😊 I use baskets in those hard to get into deep cupboards, it makes drink bottles and coffee cups easier to access.

I declutter regularly. I pick a room for the week (this week, it’s my bathroom), then an area in that room for each day and do a max 15 min (usually 5 min) declutter in that area. This has helped me stay on top of clutter. I had to laugh, because you talk to yourself like I do while cleaning and decluttering.

THAT is actually a great idea! Thank you.🙂

This is amazing! I forget you have to keep decluttering and would get mad that areas would get messy after I cleaned them…six months ago!

I’m so surprised that several of your clear bins didn’t have labels! Particularly the cabinet under the sink and the closet that had bandaids and extra products. I’ve learned so much about the magic of labeling from you! Haha. ….Your real life decluttering made me feel better about my progress and competency. And also, this was so much fun to watch. You are hilarious and brilliant at the same time.

For sheets - store the set of sheets you need in the matching pillowcase to keep them together.

Fun video! Whether you fold or bunch your sheets: Put your sheet and extra pillowcase into the other pillowcase to keep the sets together (easy when you do it out of the wash when there are fewer choices). When you need a new set, you just grab the full pillowcase. Saves soooo much time! Hope this works for your organizing style.

15:35 !!! :D Thank you for saying lavender smells like butt. This is the honesty the world needs so it stops making everything lavender-scented.

I'm a multi hobbiest and have tried a lot of your list. Add crocheting, sewing, genealogy, local history, and guitar to those. I rotate them so I rarely give up anything completely, but I have given away some of my stuff. I'm glad it's being used. I pretty much came to a halt making any more purchases about 5 years ago, but once in awhile I indulge. I keep thinking of things I can part with, but unless I keep a list I forget quickly. Why is that? The Coconut Song is going to go on my cleaning playlist. That will make me smile. Thanks for sharing this.
