Oh btw just to let you know 2017X’s Lyrics in the Subterfuge song, Near the end he says “Death defying, Redefining, Now i see the SILVER lining.” Which is a direct reference to the 2017X story where one of his main victims becomes Silver The Hedgehog. Aswell as the rest of the song’s lyrics talk about how 2017X feels on tails Shunning him and refusing that he is sonic. Its a extremely deep sonic the more you look into the lyrics and meaning. @@Duncachi Well from only what I know about here on KZbin, ( really haven’t done much Googling on 2017X’s interactions) there are Two songs that I know of where he deals with characters. The first is called “Petrified” and it’s where poor cream happens to stumble upon ‘Sonic’. The other one is called “Tremor” where it see’s Silver pit up against him. Know I would like to remind these are fan made songs about 2017X that aren’t A part of Legacy, but I think they still fit his character well even if they don’t have much of a story.

The way I see it 2017x is like the sonic version of those characters/plots in shows where one character is hypnotised to be someone else. That or he's got a similar thing to metal sonic, who we find out when he becomes metal overlord, believes himself to be sonic. He thinks he is the real sonic and that makes 2017x honesty more cool since he'd probably have actually conflict with metal sonic over this. Such a cool exe and great job explaining him!

I especially love the “Wacky” version of Subterfuge where 2017x is singing along with Dahlia, who is struggling with being confident with singing. 2017x genuinely helps her and says “aren’t you glad your buddy Sonic is here to help you?” and shows no hostility towards her cuz at no point does she contradict him or deny his fantasy of being Sonic. Towards the end of the song he cracks, revealing his true nature, which he does when at an emotional state (usually in agitation and anger at being denied). Here though, he is genuinely happy and cracks because he is having such a good time. On a final note, when the song ends x exclaims happily “You’re very good at this!” To Dahlia

Fun fact: There are actually *3* leitmotifs in Subterfuge. There's Silly Billy, which is quite an obvious motif, as it's front and center. Tails, near the end sings "His World." In retaliation, however, 2017 X sings "Fatality" (Fatal Error's song in Sonic.EXE 3.0). Tails singing His World might be him referencing what the REAL Sonic would do to his friends. 2017 X singing Fatality in response to Tails' His World motif is literally X saying Tails made a fatal error in thinking he's not Sonic.

I've said this on a different video but I'll say it here as well I think a cool way of making an EXE unique is to not make the EXE a supernatural entity, but instead from some psychotic kid's imagination. Imagine playing an EXE game where you're a father trying to connect with your son, who likes making sonic romhacks. So you play one of them, only to discover your son's using the romhacks to play out his violent fantasies. Characters are renamed to people you know the Son doesn't like, a school bully, a former friend... and then you. At the end you find out your son is using the romhack to plan out something he wants to do in real life.

some things I'd like to point out 1:49, x's power traits are still viewable in him, esspecially his true form. But becaues of his obsession with being sonic, he's limited to only knowing what sonic can do and not what he can do. It was stated by Raven that it was more of a representation of Sonic.exe as a whole and a thing of showing how Sonic.exe has changed over the years. She also strictly said that it was more of Rightburst's creation than Shei's. Sadly, he won't have any representation in Legacy due to Shei not wanting to be associated with fnf anymore after all the drama that happened in vs sonic.exe.

How I make it simpler for me is that Allfather is the first exe. 2011x was his first transformation and "child" and so on and so forth with 2017x to scrimbo to omt to xenophanes. For Lord X, I think of him as a separate being from the all father, hence how they made Exe or faker. and for other exes that dont fall in line with allfather (requital, fatal error, etc.) their stories explains how they came to be. I know this isnt canon since allfather isnt canon, but its the simpliest way I can make it for myself

I do like him, but there is one thing that I kind of have a problem with, and that is that his design is just kind of a nothing burger. Which could’ve been fine, I do like minimalistic designs, but 2017 kinda feels minimalistic in the wrong way. Not sure what it is, but he kinda just looks like a beta design for Werehog Sonic.

2017x is pretty cool but honestly Rewrite is still my favorite EXE by far with the cool redesigns of Sonic (Rewrite), Tails, and Knuckles. Also Rewrites sheer power is also pretty cool considering the fact he’s trapped Sonic.EXE (Xenophanes? I think?), Majin, and Lord X. Even combining Majin and Sonic.EXE, for fun I guess. Also Trinity is a peak song.

One thing you missed that was pointed out to me by a friend of mine is that in the final verse, "silver" in "NOW I SEE THE SILVER LINING" has been marked with a different font. This is most likely in reference to Silver the Hedgehog, one of the characters in 2006, but also possibly one of the victims of 2017X.

OMT and The All Father are literally retakes that don't really change anything OMT is like "OooOOOooOOo I'm sonic.exe but with shapeshifting powers and apparently i'm supposed to be the og exe but i'm actually not so that's pretty confusing" The all father is more like "I'm sonic.exe and the only thing that's different about me is the fact that i am the """father""" of all the exes, exes that are not even the original ones but retakes on them so the original owners don't get mad at me" I don't have any beef with exetior, he's fine Actually i don't have beef with any exe but yeahhh i gotta admit they are not that unique

@@AweAtWork Sonic OMT in his canon prevented the birth of 2011Х literally . and the allfather is an alternative version of 2011X, which is unique in its own way, given that Lord x is the only one who is an offshoot of the canon, all the other "exe" are imitators of OG X..

It's honestly pathetic how OMT is so ignored given how good his games actually are. I get people are sick of 2011 Sonic.exe's story being retold but you can't just sit here and act like OMT doesn't have more to him on his end. Not to mention his game is pretty damn unique compared to the others. But it is what it is.

I think 2017 is so interesting to a lot of people is because he falls under the idea of ‘the guy who just wants people to see him the way he sees himself’ that a lot of people love, kind of like that PS1 guy from Smiling Friends Also unrelated, I like to think that EXE (or Faker) see each other as brothers (coming from the same creator- Lord X- and everything) EXE is more mentally put together, he’s just really angry and hates almost everything, but he has a soft spot for his mentally ill older brother (as 2017x canonically came first before EXE)

Honestly if I were Tails in this situation my overall plan to get away from 2017x would be that I would try to stand being around him for a couple of days after he takes over Sonic and then I'd tell him some random made up story that he wouldn't know about like "Hey, Sonic...Knuckles told me a secret yesterday and it's that about a year ago you flirted with Rouge and tempted her to go on a date with you and you cheated on Amy. Not cool man. We're not friends anymore." Walk away and problem solved! It's not telling him that he's not Sonic or anything so it should work XD
