The manual, and the whole car, will stay in production longer with the addition of the automatic. Sales numbers and profit still mean something to manufacturers. It doesn't mean they are canceling the manual. When sales numbers drop, models get dropped. Not sure how 30:70 would be new, it has had that since day one. The new modes however have very different names compared to the previous splits. I'm guessing that's because of the torque vectoring diffs. And the "center" diff is mounted to the rear diff. There is a company that makes a ring and pinion set for the rear diff with the same ratio as the front to reduce slip/heat. Nemtec Racing put one in one of his GRC's and it seams to be helping. Others have wrapped the exhaust to help. And I believe someone, possibly Lamspeed, made a housing that holds more fluid. And one other company is developing a housing with an external cooler???? I haven't seen any updates on that one though. I also saw a JDM GR Yaris had an under tray with a cooling duct to the housing. Options are out there folks.

This is all Subaru had to do for the WRX. No Cladding (Panel is painted all the way through anyway, no stamping, no 100$ flares clipped and double-sided taped - Money Left over for finishing the paint on rockers and bumpers, keeping current price, Plus no extra cost in developing specific cladding for another Subaru model), 285ish rated hp (Shows progress - but not a STI), Brembo brake kit option available as a Package in Accessories in 2022 (As needed supply - Allocation and separate installation fees administrated by dealer rather than Automaker - Cost Savings). Three small things = Guaranteed increase in sales. - But even this is too hard. Partly because, maybe there is an agreement since Toyota owns 20% or more of Subaru. Either way... Hatchback, 300hp, AWD, That Diff, Manual, Brakes standard since first release, Toyota can provide this for us, and soon a 2.0liter turbo 300-400hp AWD Celica. Please ask these questions next time you are near a Toyota representative to see if we can have the answers: No center console arm rest and or storage space yet? The excuse was that it was a manual transmission only car. What's the excuse this time? And when will they get rid of the dust and fingerprints collecting piano black interior parts? Did they already fixed the infotainment issues? What about the hidden tracking and information sending computer that sends information without your knowledge to Toyota, dealerships and insurance companies? When will the steering wheel can be telescoped and tilt further upwards and towards the driver? When will they use bigger brakes at the back? I find it abnormal and asymetrical that manufacturers pay too much attention to the front brakes when is always better to have a rear-bias braking balance for both hard cornering and extensive use. Is the trunk space enhanced? Why they don't give us the motor with at least 100 HP more and 105 more torque for a more rounded number of 400 and call it the 400 edition? (I call dibs if they really make this one)

i just commented same thing they are making these flag ship sports models under powered in all car brands. anything below 400 horsepower in todays market with todays technology is just flat out under powered. it would cost them the same damn amount of money to build a 4cylinder with 400-500horsepower as it would to build tihs 3 cyl 300hp motor. i dont know if they under power it to make it reliably last for 200-300k miles or what but if im buying a true turbo sports car i want at minimum 400 horsepower, the golf gti and golf r also are barely breaking 300hp. you can buy a old chevy or ford pick up truck with over 300 horsepower so your telling me their flagship sports/r models only have the same barely 300hp it just doesnt make sense. has me thinking about ditching my audi to get a muscle car. even a stock toyota camry grandma car non turbo v6 has 300hp wtf. its like honda type r only being 315hp it should be 400-500hp and the base model should maybe only be 315hp. they just want to rip us off thats all it comes down to. they also need to bring back 2 door sports cars since when do we allow a sedan 4 door to be the flagship R model? sedans arent sports car no matter how much they force it on us i will continue buying older 2 doors instead of newer until they bring back 2 door option

This $46-48k, and you can spend $55k and still have like a 255-315 HP turbo 4 Cyl with BMW or Audi. Yea "true sweet spot" straight 5 is only gonna run you $70k with a Audi RS3 or TTS RS. I wouldn't sell this 3 cyl so short either. Shops got it running 740whp with stock bottom. 400HP is literally a intake and a tune. The only two 400+ cars you're are getting brand new without spending north of $50k is the Nissan Z with a twin-turbo V6 or the Mustang GT with the good ol American V8. It's quicker because of the automatic. Automatic's beat manuals EVERY time. Now that it has an auto, time to get one!

This is the kind of tech you put on a luxury car... you should at least pay 100K to pretend you know how to drive. I am glad I got Gen1... the real race car (whisper: "it has three pedals")

Yea all those rich people tracking their rolls Royce. 😂 You guys like a primitive tribe. Oh, no! Newer and better technology! (Whispers: "Real race cars have a Sequential bud")
@andrewmerrick6013 ай бұрын
sequential is not automatic... ??? still has a clutch, still needs to shift (and yes they require a level of skill to operate), still needs technique and ingenuity, most of all its expensive AF. its not a paddle shifter. Literally, a 5 Y/o can drive this car now.
@DragonKnightX123 ай бұрын
@@andrewmerrick601 It's not manual either, it's a simple lever or paddle shifter mechanism. Semi-auto sequentials are a thing my guy. A DCT would give almost the same experience. A 12 year old could drive it now. It's not that hard. Lol I had to learn on a big ol diesel, and pull a heavy load with a 20 min crash course. Modern manuals are so much easier to operate. Light clutch pedals, auto rev match, Hill assist, and I think Toyota also has a anti-stall. They might not become a track star in a day, but a kid could definitely pickup and learn this car pretty quickly. But a Auto isn't gonna make you a track star right of the bat either. Still gotta learn how to handle the car at high speeds, how to do corners, hairpins.. etc, and how not to go off track.

Well if you're an enthusiast, manual is basically mandatory to learn at some point, well before you commit $40k into a new car. Buying an auto GRC shouldn't be because you haven't learned manual.

@@CleverCheetah Well you need to LEARN how to at least. It's something that you will eventually have to learn and it completely changes your perspective on driving when you do learn. Plus most enthusiast cars we love are still manual. Can you really be an enthusiast when you can't even drive THE enthusiast transmission?

anyone who buys a auto car because "its quicker" is a absolute nonce. you're driving to get the groceries, you are just driving as you do on the daily, you arent on a race track as much as you think you wanna be so that split second gear change makes no difference. if you are buying a auto because you are in stop start traffic then maybe you need to remove your ego and realise that a "hot hatch" probably isnt the actual right car for you. people keep complaining there arent enough fun manual cars these days so please stop turning all the fun ones that are manual into autos
@revmatchtv5 ай бұрын
There’s still a manual option and I’d take the manual personally, but I see no issue with adding choice.
@CleverCheetah5 ай бұрын
Nah auto is logically quicker. Put a professional driver in a manual vs auto and the auto will win every single time. Its common sense really. The manual is just the more fun option which you aren’t understanding.
