Lots of food for thought. I have gone around with similar thoughts about upgrading. Everything is so expensive now. I am grateful for what I have, and the financial freedom I enjoy. Building up savings for repairs if necessary. “Can I do it?” I was so excited that you decided to do the build. It’s been great to watch.

I cannot say that I didn't have moments of wondering what I had gotten myself into... LOL Once it is done though we think it will work very well for our situation. It's definitely unique to our needs though.

I worked on range of travel and taking advantage of the lower fuel prices so I tried to transfer fuel tank to car. Terrible out coming. But I parked it (project) and gave it days of thought. Today I attempted fuel transfer not a drop spilled. I was so impressed I decided to add another tank. Now I've got 11.9 car capacity,12 gallon boat fuel cell, and a 6 gallon boat fuel tank. A harbor freight pump and some Walmart⅜ fuel fittings and I have something that'll work flawlessly. This is not a made up range 1200 miles is great, but I now can justify the 30 miles drive for fuel. $2.75 local price wmt. 30 miles east $2.35 Wmt+ cuts 10¢ ppgallon.
