Why a Downwind Board For Wing Foiling?
There are so many benefits to having a Downwind board for wing foiling. First; the board is longer and narrower which translates to a more efficient board from getting out of the water to getting onto foil. This efficiency in board speed allows us to ride smaller foils and smaller wings which makes riding small bumps and general cruising more fun.

nice video but please tell us more about correct sizing of downwind board. youve gone from 53litre daily driver to 85l downwind board. im 220lb normally on 90l board what would you recommend?

Definitely depends rider to rider and how confident you are on the 90L but I think that somewhere around 110L would be perfect. Armstrong V2 options would be the 106L or 116L

Hi there, any chance you did get a chance to try NPS sup/wing pro foil board in 5'6" for winging? Its a bit longer at 5'6" and only 24" wide with 86l. I believe you guys did a short video anout nps boards. Woukd you recommend that board in 5'6" for winging only?

I use 6’3 and still feeling really good, much much better than 5’ fat board.. about the skinny really not a problem for winging, because you got wing to help balance,

I think it would be fair to say that those NSP boards fall somewhere in between a typical wing board and a downwind foil board. I think that if you are used to boards in that 75-90L range for winging you would enjoy the NSP boards. Gear advances quick in winging as it is such a new sport but I think it is fair to say those NSP boards were ahead of their time! - Ethan

Better to use an easy planing race board. Downwind boards feel horrible.
