Saga would lose to akuma yes no doubt but in the real timeline sagat beat ryu, it's after the fight sagat was showing sportsmanship & ryu tapped in & cheapshoted sagat so technically sagat didn't lose.

Satsui no Hadou also seems to be influencing Sagat. If you played his SFV story he seems to be feeling it trying to overtake him. Maybe if Akuma sense it maybe he'll take on Sagat.

And Sagat is not a "bad guy". He is loved by many especially children in Thailand. He uses his money to support the poor and disadvantaged children and he lives a humble life despite making alot of money as muay champion. He just looks mean and he is a tough guy. He's not a "nice guy" per se but he's not evil. He's also honourable and fair.

Akuma vs Sagat is a match that I've enacted on every StreetFighter game that I've ever owned that has them both. Always a great match but, in StreetFighter lore, Akuma would handedly defeat Sagat.

Akuma only seems to take interest in opponents that "master" level. Sagat was the top of the world's known fighters around the tome of SF1, but never in the same tier as Akuma, Gouken, Oro, etc. Akuma only took interest in Ryu once he saw him use the Satsui no Hadou, because of his potential. It's also why he shows interest in Ryu, but not in Ken. However, there's potential for Akuma and Sagat to cross paths one day, if we go by Sagat's SF5 story, where he seemed to tap into the SnH himself (or something similar to it). I really liked the idea, and hope the series follows up on it. Really hoping for Sagat to be added to SF6 in the future.

Well I folded Shin and regular Akuma with Sagat in every Street Fighter I played even Capcom vs games! Yet I folded Sagat with Akuma and Shin Akuma and both Sagat and Akuma and Shin Akuma folded the other very easily and on maxed difficulty settings so it may be a very good match! Lore wise Akuma is obsessed with Ryu like Sagat was! Sagat grew and got better not needing to prove anything anymore and regain his title from Adon easily and Netflix and chill with his pet tiger from now on. M.Bison and Akuma are now the Ryu obsessed ones. To be fair Ryu is a homage to Samurai and Bushido culture just without the need to use a sword for fighting! So if you understand Bushido and Samurai mindset the Lord for him to follow is 2: Gantetsu to make him proud and the art of battle to as Ash Ketchem said to be the very best like no one ever was!
