If the blacks don't match, it needs to look intentional. If it just looks like you threw on a couple black pieces without checking to see if they work, it won't work. Be intentional in your dressing, and it will work.

When you mentioned a cold wash, I had to agree. I have no gas in my flat, so I do not have the ability to wash clothes with hot water. I find my clothes do better with cold water. That really surprised me. So, you are right 100% - cold wash.

For some great hot weather shirts, you should try shirts made out of bamboo. Their as cool as linen but don't rinkle as much & are softer than cotton. Onno is a brand I use for black t-shirts shirts. That lenin dress shirt was really nice

What also works well with an all black outfit (or a monochromatic outfit in general) is mixing textures. If you wear a shiny leather pant adding a satin shirt might be a bit to much. Opt for sth with a 'rough' surface instead, like a knitted sweater. I used to wear all black for about 7 years and still wear a lot of it, and the idea of mixing textures really makes my outfits look stylish and intenional.

Hey I was wondering if you (or anyone else) could offer some advice. I've been wanting to upgrade my fashion as I dress like a middle/high-schooler. I am 26 years old and only wear T-shirts and shorts. My main issues are that I have sensory issues and I overheat very easily (I believe I have autism). For shirts, I am extremely particular about fabrics. I only like a certain type of cotton (so far) and it's Costco's Kirkland Signature T-shirts. I have some 100% cotton T-shirts that I absolutely cannot stand because they feel like polyester (way too "smooth"). I am less particular about my shorts. Overall, I really don't like tight-fitted clothing and I hate pants. Just don't like the feeling of most fabrics covering my entire leg. I was wondering how I could upgrade my fashion while having all these limitations. Let me know if there's anything else I can add. Thank you.

I tend away from black as I think it drains colour from my face (I prefer navy) but my work shirt is black with purple sleeves, placket and collar (as well as black pants and boots), so I think that helps a bit. I do wear black pants with patterned shirts, and usually black shoes I also love the lining of the jacket
