I absolutely agree but RIA people are also committing scams, in such a scenario I feel its best to consume knowledge from everywhere and do your own research, just because someone has a degree doesn't mean that they are great. Why is degree a measure of anything, makes no sense to me. Knowledge should be the prime parameter . I don't have a Btech CS degree but I know coding better than my engineering friends.

I genuinely don’t understand the value of Degrees anymore, although I respect the need of degrees in the role of education & maintenance of social status in our life but what if our interests gets changed after getting a degree in a specific subject. My point is by getting a degree is pretty good for those who want to go into jobs & preparations for govt. exams, because there you need to get qualified enough to even sit into the examination hall. For people like Sharan, degrees don’t and they shouldn’t be because you cannot compare education with degrees.

I've a friend who done his graduation in IIT, but choose business as his main income. I asked bro why u studied ENGINEERING if u don't want to take that path?? Why u chose PCM in 11th? How do I know, looking at a face, that a person is trustworthy ? Sharan, you said that mutual fund Distributors earn lots of money from mutual funds companies. I just want to clarify here that mutual funds commission is less than 1% on AUM. Where Insurance commission is 15% on per policy. Now you can indetify that how we can earn money from MF.

When you are the beneficiary of so much praise the least you can do is to mind your language when talking about intermediaries. Mind you they are not yet banned and by a far shot still very relevant in the system. Yes I'm talking about your reference to MFDs and the "kickbacks" they make from AMCs. While MFDs may have their own share of bad eggs, like in the case of any other intermediary (like finfluencers and RIAs) it also certainly has its own share of Sharans among them. So next time when you refer to any intermediary don't get carried away with your language PS: I'm a MFD and have informed and happy clientele

I've seen this happening and iam in the industry myself : The big bulls and big bears and large finance institution who used to manipulate retail investor in all sorts of way cannot manipulate retailers anymore due to the rise of investment awareness and stock market related content on KZbin. The powerful big players don't like this and are devising a grand plan to stop fin fluencer like Akshat , CA rachane etc etc . Ther are powerful people who makes money by manipulating retailers . Now SEBI is with them and will do anything to stop fin fluencer influence on the market.
