well made , I just like to add that Research today is not how it was a hundred years ago no single paper today will probably change physics as we know but a 100 consecutively will ,Take for example the development of Quantum physics you can never give credit to one person for it but it took a lot of papers published in a span of 50 to 70 years to completely develop it ,and forget physics by your arguement all of abstract math is nonsense Terence Tao's advancements in the Golbach conjecture was a waste of 'taxpayers money".I do however agree that motive for pursuing research has been changed for a lot of ppl ,doing research just for the sake of research and completing Phd is a trend these days . but believe me when I say this there will be no more giants but humans standing on shoulders of other humans that will broaden our horizons.

I totally agree with your statements you've made. I think you too will agree that those people did have a purpose behind what they did and also a direction in where they wanted to head (retrospectively). When I saw people doing PhD and research for the sake of it, I couldn't grasp what was happening in front of eyes. All I could think about was you don't have to be Einstein but atleast get outside of your ivory tower and see what problem people (especially engineers) are facing? That'll surely make you more realist and creative with your research instead of hyping your papers. So I kinda put my frustrations in this video. There's lot more things I left to cover that I couldn't fit within 20 mins. But yeah, thanks for spending your time and watching this video along with your elaborative comment.
